Exactly same 11. Just put Bruno deep with Casemiro. I hope he doesn't change the front 3 as this is exactly the game this front 3 is needed with the way they play. Just have Rashford, Garnacho and Antony make runs off the defenders the whole game and we should win fairly comfortably. If we lose this i'll have serious doubts about this season as this is the perfect team to play Transition football against. If we struggle in the transition against Spurs we're well and truly fecked this season...

Won't happen but I'd consider Pellistri on the right since Spurs tuck their fullbacks in and he might be able to hurt them on the counter.

I expect the same lineup unless Ten Hag brings in Mctominay for Mount.

I see lineups with Eriksen and Casemiro. We will be to static in offense and cut through on the counter easily. Their legs have gone and they can't play together anymore.

Hopefully Mount will be able to do that role of breaking play and transitioning quickly. Games like this should suit the tactics ETH was trying to implement of winning the ball quickly and hitting opponent fast.

Same line up as last game. Lindelof for Martinez if he isn't fit enough.

I don't know why, but I have a feeling we will see a big improvement for this game.

They were playing well together not three months ago

3 months ago Eriksen was putting out poor performance after poor performance. He has been poor since he came back from injury.

Yes, and he was a massive liability in almost all big games last season, especially away from home. Was only useful mainly against the weaker teams at Old Trafford where we were expected to dominate possession.

I don't know why, but I have a feeling we will see a big improvement for this game.

I do think ETH will adjust the position of three Midfielder, it seems Burno and Mount are too high against Wolves, and they need to understand each other position and learn how to balance between attack and defence.
Also, put Rashford back to the left would be more dangerous.

He wasn’t. He helped us hold off Liverpool. We lost 2 in 10 and eased to top 4 qualification when Eriksen came back

    Who will be the striker?

    Rashford Sancho Antony
    Mount Casemiro Bruno
    Shaw Martinez Varane Wan Bissaka
    Onana
Don't need to panic and change after 1 game. Just need to do better. Be sharper on the ball. Adjust positioning slightly. Not lose your 50/50s. Also - Rashford back on the wing. Leave Garnacho to be impact sub.

    I think we'll see:

    Onana
    AWB Varane Licha Shaw
    Bruno Casemiro Mount
    Antony Sancho Rashford

Pretty much the same team, but moving rashford to the left where he is more effective.

Garnacho off the bench in the second half. But our midfield has to be way more disciplined, otherwise they would cut through us.

    Who will be the striker?

Sancho, he seems fit when we against Wolves, he just needs to hold up the ball and pass
I just hope ETH don't put our most dangerous players out of his favourite position.

Agree with this. Both Garnacho and Rashford are so much more impactful this way.

I expect only one change, Garnacho to start from the bench in this one and Sancho to be picked over him. Since Sancho was also tried as a false 9 in pre-season, it also gives the flexibility of switching positions with Rashford during the game.

    Onana
    AWB - Varane - Martinez - Shaw
    Casemiro
    Mount- Bruno
    Antony - Rashford- Sancho

If Martinez is injured, Lindelof will start in his place. I expect cameos from Martial, Garnacho, McTominay and Eriksen.

EDIT: This is the type of game where I'd prefer to have someone like Amrabat starting next to Casemiro, instead of having Mount start next to Bruno. But it is what it is.

Big jump up from mid table Italian club to United…

Someone like Amrabat, not necessarily Amrabat. Someone who is good in ball retention and circulation without being a non-entity defensively (like Eriksen)

    Onana
    AWB - Varane - Martinez - Shaw
    Casemiro
    McSauce - Bruno
    Antony - Sancho - Rashford

    Thats what I’d pick.
Take off Antony and put in Mount, swap him to the left. Much rather play with 4 midfielders and sancho and rashford up top instead of Antony. Mount deserves more chances, can’t say the same for Antony at the moment. Bring him on as a sub. Maybe let’s pray he’s more effective that way.
You could argue for pellistri but I’d much rather us play four midfielders.

Yeah I was thinking teams will prepare for a very one dimensional Antony...so why not throw a curve ball and start Pellistri.

Another option would be to start a trio of Rashford/Sancho/Antony but tell them all to switch often! just so that the full backs are not looking at the same attack over and over.

I have zero clue how this will turn out because of Monday's shocking display. This appears to be the most winnable away game amongst the big 7 (Newcastle is in there now) this season based on opening weekend so if we lose this one, alarm bells may need to go off.

Either the same team, or same team but with Sancho instead of Garnacho.

Weird sentence to say after a win, but we really need a reaction after the Wolves shambles.

We are in the bizarre situation of wanting a win but you know that a defeat would accelerate transfers and possibly an announcement for the sale of the club...

    Maddison is a big worry.

Hopefully ETH will setup us up better and gives players clear instructions to not have Case isolated.

Just feels like Spurs will have the ball and their fullbacks tuck in so when we win it and counter, I can see Antony (or Sancho) checking back in as he runs out wide into space, whereas if Pellistri can get a step wide or ahead of a tucked in Udogie, he can go straight ahead without checking back to slow down the attack.

Were Spurs really that good in their opening day draw to warrant such panic or are people scared by how poor we were vs Wolves? Anyway, i'm pretty confident we can do well if we tighten the midfield up a bit.

apart from his complete lack of presence up front.

To be fair rashford did nothing because we had 3 wingers running in behind rather than dropping deep. Sancho may offer us that as he won't look to run in behind every time.

The only other option is to start martial. Not great options but both better than Rashford through the middle. In my amateur opinion.

They weren't very good. 2.22 xg for Brentford vs 1.27 for Spurs. Though it's mainly because we are away to a top half team and played shit in the first game.

It would do neither. We should all be wanting a win. You can look at our window as being as good as done unless some bigger sales happen. Van de Beek doesn't really count. It's McTominay or Maguire leaving that would lead to any other incomings.

Bissouma and Van De Ven looked good and they controlled possession, but draw was a fair enough result. Based on that game, Spurs should have the ball but we should be slight favorites, though if we play like we did against Wolves we'll lose.

To be fair it couldn’t have got much worse. An away team having the most shots on our goal in 18 years. The only way is up after that. Let’s not forget we’ve had some batterings in that time too.

Wolves not scoring at least 3 goals was the biggest shock of the night.

Part of me wants McTominay to start this game, despite feeling that he needs to be sold. Which seems indicative of the state of our midfield at the moment.
