I think that we will have two changes in this game whith Garnacho for Sancho and Lindelof for Martinez.

Other than that, I think Ten Hag will continue playing Mount over Eriksen.

I think that we will have to be more cautious in the defensive transitions and our block should be less stretched.

Don't think Spurs will provide us a lot of threats without Kane, as they still need to learn how to play without him.

Nevertheless, I would be happy with a draw.

Being trounced by a Spurs team who are just at the start of their new project and have lost their best player would be absolutely demoralising. The Wolves game did no good for the confidence but hoping we bounce back strong and look much more convincing.

2 - 0 United. We'll get goals were Tottenham trying to build from the back.

    Sancho for Garnacho.
    Dalot for AWB.
Lindelöf for Martinez if he isn't fit.

    Big Ang licking his lips.

    Easy spurs win, 2-0.

Surely we cannot be as bad as we were last night , can we?

It's almost like we could do to start Casemiro and McTominay in midfield. Which is a) bad and b) never happens. Perfect game for Fred though...

Jesus H I wouldn't want to go into battle with some of you.

We're getting up to fitness. We always start seasons slowly. We got smashed last season in our first few games.

Spurs will leave loads of space behind their defence - perfect for our new GK to play flat balls across to the likes of Rasford to run onto.

    We will win this.

Think ETH has to accommodate change in the instructions to the players especially in the middle. I don't think the team lacked sharpness severely in the performance yesterday it was just a tactical blunder that caused there to be a cut off from progressing the ball in the midfield to attack.

I know many will criticise Rashford but there was no foundation to create sustained chances from. Essentially asking the forward players to play with no rhythm in the attack is always going to be a difficult showing.

I hope ETH uses the same shape, there's no use planning to implement the system all summer, buying specific players for this philosophy then pivoting at the last second due to a below average performance. Just make tweeks where necessary and ensure the players are disciplined to drill the changes.

Don't see Spurs winning this at all, there were miniscule positives to the performance last night. The team looked threatening only when camped in the opposition box so the ability to get to that phase of play more decisively is what should be worked on all week.

I am sure ETH will rectify the mistakes from yesterday and the team will be a bit fitter.
Against Spurs anything can happen, but I am sure we will perform a lot better than yesterday. A win here would be huge.

Unless we get Amrabat in: highly unlikely, then perhaps a tactical switch to 4-5-1/4-2-3-1 get an extra body in midfield. Push Bruno right in place of Antony, put Rash back on left and Sancho the false 9. Means the likes of Mctom coming in as well though, but we wouldnt be so exposed.

United are still a very jackal and hyde type team...so it wouldn't surprise me at all if they play a million times better the the showing against Wolves.

It will be Mctominay for Mount. Hopefully Sancho for Garnarcho.
Bissouma was very good vs Brentford. will be difficult game.

Benchmark game for both teams. Let's see if ours proves last night was just an outlier. I'm also curious to see if we immediately cede the initiative and play on counters, like a bottom-half team.

Don't think either team has what it takes to beat the other, so minimal draw. We could also be punished by VAR, to compensate for the game against Wolves.

Not totally against this but I doubt ETH will start that crock up front he’d pull up after 20 mins

I was tempted to write Hojlund in his place but I doubt he will be ready to start.

This is what I would like to see, not expect. Feel Dalot helps move up and add to the midfield, prefer Bruno deeper, Rashford on the left and think Sancho offers better retention than Antony.

    AWB - Varane - Martinez - Shaw
    Casemiro
    Mount - McTominay
    Bruno
    Sancho - Rashford
We need to change the formation. Current midfielders cannot play a 4-3-3. And Bruno is a forward, regardless of where you play him, he will play as a forward so id far prefer him at the top of the pitch where he can impact our scoring rather than the opposition's.

Take out one of the best players from the last game?:wenger:

I also think he was one of the players that did well yesterday. But he isn't suited to being an inverted fullback, he looks lost in midfield.

I prefer Dalot on that role.

Should be a relatively easy victory for us. Spurs at home will try to play on the front foot, and we will destroy them on transition

Mctominay will have to play, he is the only mid we have who has legs to get about the pitch now fred has gone.

I prefer Dalot on that role.

I think he looked very comfortable on the ball to be honest and Dalot is weak in defence and his positioning there is not good, especially against Spurs in my opinion.

I do not think the problem lies in right back mate. The problem yesterday was central midfield clearly?

Sort of dreading this. We were abject last night, couldn't believe how off the pace we were all match. Isn't it arsenal after as well? Good god.

Rashford back out to the left with Sancho coming in. Hope that Mount and Bruno can sort out their positioning.
