I can only see this going one way: they have the best defensive in the Prem, we don't attack. 3-nil to them

How did you see us v City going the other week? Or when we played Arsenal with half a team of kids?

Speaking to a couple Of Spurs fans today at work they seem to be very confident throwing out 3-1 and 4-1 scorelines :(

Must be the confidence gained from all the trophies they've won this last decade...

Win tomorrow and we are 6 points behind Spurs with a game in hand and 3 points behind Arsenal.
If it wasn't for fecking Leicester there would be mumblings of a title charge :(

Win tomorrow, and the likelihood of top 4 ramps up massively.

Feck what they think. They always bottle it against us.

Spurs fans are always confident, doesn't mean they're any good.

Tbh I can see us winning tommorow and I'm usually a real downer on our score predictions, they both seem under the immpression that if they get an early goal then we'll fall to bits and it'll be very one sided but I reckon we could pick up a win.

How many times have we conceded early goals this year? Not many. Usually we feck up at the end of games.

we last lost there in 2001, but although history doesn't affect a result, it can easily pray on their minds.

a draw would keep us within 1 result of City, but a win would be huge.

Hopefully Leicester City win as well. Going into a game 10 points behind Leicester will put huge pressure on them.

    Yep.
I cannot believe how it's opening up so much for Leicester. It's unreal.
Even today, Arsenal cruising at 2-0! But 1 point as good as rules them out, even with their comfy run in.

Hoping Van Gaal makes two changes for the Spurs game:
    Rojo > Mensah
    Herrera > Carrick.

We normally do well in these fixtures lets hope for something positive.

I see only a 1-2 victory for United, but then again I'm getting smashed right now before an English Beat show in my dusty little down in California.

I remember a number of years ago Spurs starting the season off and destroying everyone. They were favourites against us at WHL and Crouch scored in the first minute. We went on to win 3-1.

Don't see us performing as we did against Arsenal at Emirates, and don't think Spurs are as strong as people make out. Would not surprise me to see United take the points. Going for 2-1, maybe even 2-0 with Spurs getting a late goal and putting on enormous pressure.

A number of years ago we weren't totally shit and didn't have an inept twat managing the team. Different case, different team, different manager.
That being said I do think we will win.

Even under Fergie in the recent years we were drawing at WHL. Hard to see a win for us unless someone has a blinder out of nowhere. A similar approach to the match at Etihad - defend compactly and work the counter - and we stand a chance.

Daley Blind and Eriksen played together for a long time. Eriksen will definitely try and exploit Blind's lack of pace. I have faith that Blind knows it is coming and will adjust.

Watched the replay of the opening game of the season before work yesterday it was on the tele. They had us absolutely on the rack in the first 20 minutes, I think it was Eriksen hit the bar with a lob that had it gone in... Well, who knows. Blind was absolutely all over the place until we scored.

    Spurs win....

Can't believe I think this but, Spurs will dig in and try force a game in their favour, like we used to, when it's not going their way....Our current team will shit it and write blogs about how "it's important we stick together" and come out in interviews and say how "it's important we learn from this"

In other words, we've become what Spurs used to be...

Such an average team for one challenging for the title. Ridiculous that LVG has managed to 'build' something worse and we'll get easily beaten on Sunday.

Average team for a title challenger, but a fairly typical 72-75 point team, which is what they're on pace for.

Excellent spine with Alderweild, Alli, Dier, Dembele, Kane and Lloris having strong seasons and the wide players are not really special (Eriksen can be in the right setup and mood) but they work hard and are mobile, which suits Pochettino's system.

That sounds like a normal 3rd-4th place team having a solid season. It's just that Leicester are having a 2nd-3rd place season and nobody else has played like even a normal 4th place team this year.

I would say that they have pulled above their weight and are still slated to win only 72-75 points. Once the big teams get their act together, big if they do, then Spurs are no better than a 4-6 placed team in a normal league season

Won't call their spine excellent either. Alli and Kane are wonderful players, but the other two are decent players having very good seasons. The challenge will be to keep this up next season, if not improve.

Amazing that in one of the craziest PL seasons where Leicester or Spurs might win the title; Villa, Newcastle and Sunderland are going to be relegated; City, Chelsea and us might finish outside the top 4; there are only two constants - Arsenal being Arsenal and Liverpool finishing the 7th-8th best team in the land.

Generally this season, big Prem games have never been a problem. Pressure all on spurs too. I think we will win 2-0

Excited for this one. Make or break for both Spurs and us. A draw will do neither of us good.

    DDG
Darmian(Though Varela Preferred) - Smalling - Blind (If Fit else TFM) - Rojo (Or TFM)
    Carrick-Schneidy
    Lingard-Mata-Martial
    Rashford

You're right that it's more a question of if the "big teams" get their act together. At one time I'm sure Liverpool fans were thinking that their general exile from the top 4 was only temporary. The "norm" is changing.

As things stand, it looks like Man. Utd, Man. City and Chelski will be going into next season with new managers and all the squad upheaval that comes with it. Spurs, in contrast, will have a settled manager and a settled squad whose young average age portends likely further improvement.

Blind is a doubt according to SSN. Jones to come back in or Rojo in CB?
Is BJ still out ? I think Young is closer to fitness than the rest. So either, TFM moves to CB and Rojo stays at LB or Young comes in at LB and Rojo takes over for Blind.

Just finding it hard to think of a positive result in this game . 3-1

It's going to be all about defence today....

They're not great, but certanly more 'dynamic' than us this year and there's no-way-Jose we're going to out-football them, so maybe we should try to settle for a draw if we can manage that and be ecstatic with a boring 1-0 ....

Having said all that, can't really see beyond a 2-0 for them - especially with Dean as ref !

Anyway, I'd have Valencia - Smalling - Mensah or Rojo - Darmian or Borthwick-Jackson if he's fit....

With Schneiderlin - Blind in front of the back four

    Lingard - Mata - Martial

    Rashford
