    Me too. And centerback pairing of Tuanzebe-Lindelöf would be not Mourinhoesque at all.

    3 at the back doesn't mean defensive.

    Lindelof is still settling, Tuanzebe is young CB so we might add 3rd one to add some composure, someone like Blind who can pick passes from deep.

    Bailly is supposed to be back for Spurs I think, and Jones will also be available. If that's the case I can see Smalling starting. I would imagine Mourinho would want after that Huddersfield game to pair Lindelof with someone more experienced.
    That's if Lindelof gets to start, at all.

    I would also keep them out, I'm just not seeing Mourinho doing it. Or he punishes Jones with a start, or he's going to trust Smalling with 5 full games in 2 weeks.
     
    Working 4pm till midnight tonight so missing another match.

    Just please let me come back to watch some half decent highlights.

    Not only Bailly, but also Rojo is (slowly) coming back, which also seemed in theory the best centerback pairing, before injuries and Jones reclaimed his spot.

    If Baily is back for the weekend as predicted, we can afford to play one of Smalling or Jones tonight and pair the other with Baily for Spurs.
     
    Shaw has got to feature at some point, surely? I suppose not if he's considered a complete write off by management. Mental really.

    What? Mourinho has always taking the League Cup seriously and rightly so. In fact, he's won it 4 times.

    I don't get why people look down on a trophy, would you rather win nothing?

    Can't wait to have that lunatic back. Went from not so trustful defender to very reliable one. Shame that Costa isn't in the league anymore.

    Would be a great option when finally fit, as he can play LB also. Feel we must get over the line this few matches and we will be in much better position, personnel wise.

    Pretty much same. Went only for Martial upfront, Mhki instead Rashford.

    I was way more excited to watch the Burton Albion game compared to this one. Our loss to Huddersfield will take some time to get over.
     
    Missing this game today. Normally I feel upset to miss a game but this one just feels meh
     
    I said it earlier, but starting Rashford tonight is a major risk. He's desperate for a rest and a long term injury for him, given our current injury crisis, could be very telling on our season as a whole.

    Because it's not a material trophy nor a competition that's taken seriously by most clubs.

    José takes it seriously, he sees it as a chance to win a trophy early in the season, and rightly so.

    He has won it four times as a manager, why would this season be any different for him?

    Totally disagree , he takes this comp seriously and always puts out a strong team.
    Why enter something if not with the intention of winning ?
    I agree with rest some players , but a good strong team is what is needed tonight and a decent win.

    Yeah not a chance we'll take any unnecessary risks. If we do lose, the pressure will be on and I'd imagine the usual shouts of a crisis.

    Why should it matter if José takes it seriously? The fact remains that the majority of the top teams don't, which massively devalues the silverware.
