It's Lindelöf or Tuanzebe, isn't it?
Me too. And centerback pairing of Tuanzebe-Lindelöf would be not Mourinhoesque at all.Seems that way. Hard to predict the lineup. Think one of McTominay/Tuanzebe will certainly start.

Overkill for Swansea?Think we might play 3 at the back with Lindelof, Tuanzebe and Blind as CBs; Shaw and Darmian as wingbacks.
Overkill for Swansea?
Given the injury issues at CB, I'd keep Smalling and Jones wrapped in cotton wool; we have 2 massive London clubs games immediately after.
I would also keep them out, I'm just not seeing Mourinho doing it. Or he punishes Jones with a start, or he's going to trust Smalling with 5 full games in 2 weeks.Given the injury issues at CB, I'd keep Smalling and Jones wrapped in cotton wool; we have 2 massive London clubs games immediately after.
Sanches and Bony out, seems they'll feature half of a second team.Any news on Swansea team? Will they play thier best players? Injuries? Do they take LC seriously?
Not only Bailly, but also Rojo is (slowly) coming back, which also seemed in theory the best centerback pairing, before injuries and Jones reclaimed his spot.Bailly is supposed to be back for Spurs I think, and Jones will also be available. If that's the case I can see Smalling starting. I would imagine Mourinho would want after that Huddersfield game to pair Lindelof with someone more experienced.
That's if Lindelof gets to start, at all.

This is definitely on TV, isn't it?
This on sky?
I think Swansea will knock us out tonight and Mourinho will be glad to be free of the distraction.
He'll still probably go overly defensive, though, and come away with a respectable 0-1 defeat!
Mate we've lost 1 game all season. Bit of an overreaction, no?I think Swansea will knock us out tonight and Mourinho will be glad to be free of the distraction.

What? Mourinho has always taking the League Cup seriously and rightly so. In fact, he's won it 4 times.
I don't get why people look down on a trophy, would you rather win nothing?
Thanks!Sanches and Bony out, seems they'll feature half of a second team.
I made the prediction :
Romero
Darmian - Smalling - Lindelof - Blind
Herrera - Scott
Lingard - Mata - Martial
Rashford
With Shaw and Axel coming as subs.
Yeah, but what people want to see is them both with Lukaku, which is not going to happen, my guess.
I don't understand how and when Carrick out of nowhere got an injury that's lasting more than 2-3 weeks now ?
Missing this game today. Normally I feel upset to miss a game but this one just feels meh
I was way more excited to watch the Burton Albion game compared to this one. Our loss to Huddersfield will take some time to get over.
Why does it feel "meh"??
I am looking forward to it just like any other match our first team play.
Because it's not a material trophy nor a competition that's taken seriously by most clubs.

This forum will be even more of a cesspit if we get knocked out by Swansea.
If Rashford's desperate for a rest, then Lukaku is what?I said it earlier, but starting Rashford tonight is a major risk. He's desperate for a rest and a long term injury for him, given our current injury crisis, could be very telling on our season as a whole.
José takes it seriously, he sees it as a chance to win a trophy early in the season, and rightly so.
He has won it four times as a manager, why would this season be any different for him?
Fortunately, Jose Mourinho has a history of taking the League Cup seriously and has won it 4 times.
Sure its the 'smallest' of the 4 competitions that we are involved in, but you cannot cherry pick what you win else you'll end up like Wenger...!!
