Good to see Jones on the comeback trail, hopefully he is back sooner rather than later.
    Any update on Bailly?

Feels like Bailly and Pogba have been out for absolutely ages. Like, proper long term.

    Perhaps something like:-

    Romero

    Blind
    Smalling
    Lindelof
    Darmian

    Matic
    Herrera
    Lingard
    Mata
    Martial

    Lukaku.

Yeah, it has been a while since we saw them both, and unfortunately we have definitely suffered because of their respective absences.

Think we might play 3 at the back with Lindelof, Tuanzebe and Blind as CBs; Shaw and Darmian as wingbacks.

Very hard to predict this team.

Jones is fit?:wenger: What the hell happened in the pitch at Huddersfield? I'm starting to think his major injury is in the head.

Maybe Shaw will get a game later - jaysus he was looking good before he broke his leg....that feels like years ago now

Surprised Jones has traveled, at least one of the players who has traveled has to be left out. Maybe it'll still be him, but it makes little sense to bother taking him when I'd rather he was just rested for Spurs and Chelsea. The rest is pretty much what we expected - and when possible, it's Valencia who gets left out completely first.

I want to see McTominay and Shaw get 90 minutes if possible, preferably Tuanzebe as well. I'd rather Matic, Lukaku, and Rashford don't play any part at all, but if we need a goal the latter is likely to be subbed on.

I think Swansea will knock us out tonight and Mourinho will be glad to be free of the distraction.

He'll still probably go overly defensive, though, and come away with a respectable 0-1 defeat!

This forum will be even more of a cesspit if we get knocked out by Swansea.

Curious to see how Mourinho deals with the players that indeed made mistakes last game (Mata and Lindelöf), even if he diminished the importance of those errors in the context of the poor attitude the team showed. Both should start.

If Tuanzebe starts in 4-2-3-1, he'll have to partner one of Lindelöf or McTominay, which I find too risky for Mourinho.

I think Jose's talk about "attitude" made Jones reassess his injury...quickly.

What an awful post, wrong in so many many ways.

I don't understand how and when Carrick out of nowhere got an injury that's lasting more than 2-3 weeks now ?

Last seen alive and kicking a month ago, out with something of a “calf/shin/heel injury”.

    Really??

He has played in how many games for us?
Were you saying similar things in the same respective time frame for Vidic as well?
He was brilliant against Arsenal at the start of April, three months after he joined. So Vidic very much swam after some initial struggles in the water.

Can't just understand how he gets a long term injury like this without even kicking a ball in a game ( unless the useless game against Burton ). In training ? It seems illogical to get a long term injury like this while training unless they're playing Battlefield at the Carrington.

He would have helped a lot if he was present.

Could be a great opportunity to play both Martial and Rashford. Probably won't do it, buy one can dream

Of course, you're right. But he's not a young chicken anymore, weird things happen to the body.

Yeah, but what people want to see is them both with Lukaku, which is not going to happen, my guess.

Have a look at my posts in the Lindelof Performances thread, I'm advocating that he is given time.

Sink or swim means he either has to put in the effort to succeed or he'll continue to struggle. I'm not suggesting tonight would by terminal, but rather he has to start making inroads.
