I think we'll win and do it fairly convincingly, everyone should be going for it that much more because it can put us close to the top spot.

People forget they no longer have Clyne, Schneiderlin, Alderweireld while Bertrand has been out since June, Clasie (Schneiderlin's replacement) has been out for 5 weeks. I'm sure I'm missing some too.

That said, Koeman will still have them organised and very difficult to break down.

Hope LvG goes for Martial, Rooney & Memphis. Ideally with Mata making way for Young.

The strange thing about LvG's Utd imo is that we seem to perform better against the better sides who want to take us on

We need to start beating teams like Southampton, Everton, Swansea etc....away from home to compete at the top of the table. For me we aren't yet quite good enough to break these kinds of teams down when they "park the bus" and we inevitably end up getting caught on the break

I think one of Mata or Herrera will make way after conceding two last week. We'll see Schneiderlin start for more protection at the back. Just hope Martial plays. I'd even consider Young at left back.

Yeah, me too. As soon as the match starts, I only care about us winning. It is only when I watch it back that I really enjoy our good play.

Exciting times, though. We see Memphis, Martial and Smalling grow before our eyes. I feel like the Manchester United squad will overtake Barcelona's in ten years time with the right signings, and we're witnessing the start of it.

Exactly, we screwed up at Swansea when we had the chance to get stretch further away from Chelsea.

I'd be fairly happy if we're within 3 points of City come the start of November.

Reading the thread makes me feel like LVG has a terrible record against Southampton. In reality we beat them away last season while we played poorly. Won one lost one against them. They're not the toughest opponents ever. We should be winning against them by a goal or two. Worst will be a draw.

With that being said I've predicted a 2-1 to Southampton because somehow they'll manage more shots on goal than us.

A bit nervous about this match. We never seem to do well against teams with good tactical coaches. They seem to have always figured us out.
Having said that Southampton is in a poor form so we should be winning this.

I went for Memphis on the left but the more I think about it the more I think LVG will go for Young for his defensive cover / link up play with left back and maybe bring Memphis on as impact sub .
