Pogba isn't tracking runners through the middle, Rojo looks like a CB at LB and Smalling and Bailley have no idea what they're doing.

Nerves appear to be a powerful thing.

We've been very poor. Not a good performance at all. Rojo is having a shocking game. He needs to come off as soon as possible. I'd get Carrick on too.

Bad half yet winning ("drawing"). Midfield two has been sloppy in defense. Leaving a lot of holes. Rojo is all alone on the left with no help from midfield. Martial has done nothing defensively and been poor offensively. Bailly is really shaky, just poor. Smalling has had a Smalling game.

Think we need Rashford or Lingard out on the left for Martial. Would like to see Mata and Lingard switch but Mata seems to be more on his toes following Bertrand than Lingard usually is and Lingard presses their back 4 a lot so maybe that's the point.

Good to be leading however. Seems clear that one team is playing their 5th game in 15 days whilst the other has had a holiday in Spain and not played at all in that same period.

Rojo is just shite at left back. He hasn't won any one on ones and has allowed so many crosses.

There's something up in CM. Pogba, Herrera and Lingard are getting killed. Hopefully Jose knows how to fix it, because it's as bad as anything I've seen in recent memory. They look like they've never met.

Weird as it sounds I'd be tempted to sub Lingard for Carrick. Or one of Mata/Martial if you prefer to not sub a goalscorer

We've been outclassed, outpaced, out-thought and outfought in this half. Southampton deserve to lead. Martial has been the worst of the lot, we look lifeless down our left when we do attack. Rojo's positioning and tackling has been hot and cold, our midfield is poorly organised leaving too much space for Southampton to attack.

Oh, also, too many crosses coming in for comfort. Gabbiadini will get on the end of one of those, and even David de God only do so much.

Feel sorry for anyone who wanted and didn't get a ticket. Thousands of empty seats dotted about both ends.

We've been pretty crap so far. Soton the better side and going towards their fans second half.

Decision to not play three in midfield has been proved wrong. I'd take Mata off and put Fellaini on. He's not got in the game. Bailly and Rojo have mot been pretty in defence but a bit early to make two subs with potential of extra time.

What a weird half. We were doing feck all but found ourselves 2-0 up. Then of course we proceeded to bring them back into the game.

Rojo is darmianesque so far. The midfield is non-existent. The CBs are weak and hesitant. Martial, Mata and Lingard either poor or invisible. Nice finish from Linhard though.

Mata and Martial have sadly been very poor. Rojo shocking. You'd imagine we'll make one change at most at half time, I guess Blind is the best choice. Do think we'll need Carrick and Rashford on at some point though.

Yes we have been outplayed but when we lost to Arsenal in the cup they were poor and still somehow we lost and nobody cares now. We look to score almost every time we get the ball the defense needs to sort it out

Carrick on at HT is a must. We just can't afford to go out with the same team, especially with Herrera on a yellow. Need support in the middle.

And fecking take Rojo off. I like the guy but he's not going to turn it around and be great in the second half. It's not a matter of attitude but ability.

We could definitely do with Carrick in there to get some control defensively, but I'd say we should be looking to move Lingard on the right - they're taking us apart from the flanks and Mata just doesn't offer enough protection to Valencia in situations like this.
