Sanchez for Mata please..
Madness to take of one of our few creative passers in a game like this
Sanchez for Mata please..
No, his passing is excellent. Having a fullback/wingback who has some thrust and attacking intent about him mitigates Mata's lack of pace. Having Valencia jog down the line to stop and play a 5 yard sideways pass negates Mata's clever movement. On the rare occasions he's had someone to interplay with he has looked dangerous.

Valencia isn’t a fitness issue, he’s simply past it.
Valencia’s role is to defend in this lop sided
3-1-3-2-1
Not cracking, but average. That tells you what Mata gives us these days.
Hopefully Sanchez comes on.
Most can't see this unfortunately. It's not foolish at all. He's an extremely clever player. Knows exactly what he's doing.
Totally. Truth is Newcastle have turned up to defend and we are struggling to break them down. Not down to any particular playerLet the scapegoating begin

I hope people can see how important Lingard’s off the ball movement is now. He drags defenders all over the place freeing up space for others.
You’re not allowed to say a shit performance is shit! Just like we weren’t allowed to say a certain shit manager was shit! It's not though is it. When a player looks lost out there you call it as you see it.
Herrera has been playing deep and right a lot this game, to make up for Valencia's deficiencies. I'd say if we brought on Young he'd be more effective. Everything is coming back to Valencia who is static and slow. Our CBs are covering more and being exposed for it, Herrera is playing deeper, and Mata is playing more centrally to get more of the ball. I'd say we'd see a big improvement with a Young-Valencia sub.We need to be a little braver, they have 11 men behind the ball. Herrera and Valencia can be a bit more adventurous and we have a decent ball player that can step out from the back. They are just killing the game so we need a goal to draw them out and then it'll open up for us.
The style of play Ole seems to want to play requires width and movement so why he's selected Valencia and Mata is beyond me.
Mata's only place in this team is midfield and Valencia well....
Mata keeps coming into the midfield, and Valencia is shit, meaning we have nothing on the right hand side, therefore allowing Newcastle to reduce the pitch width and stay in the game.
Bring on a right side and its game over.
5-0 win for us
It was so frustrating I accepted my GF's offer of a gin and tonicEvery chance we've created has started with a penetrative pass between the lines from Herrera. This is what Matic should be doing but instead he's slowing our play down. Valencia is defensively all over the place and providing Mata with no support. Fix those two issues and we should be fine.

No. Reason we are having trouble breaking them down is because we’ve lost a forward and clogged the center with another playmaker. Take off Mata and bring on Lingard or Sanchez, and the game opens up.
He's too slow to play the on the right. He's actually stinking the place up. Sanchez is much more dynamic and has a huge goal threat, so should come on.Madness to take of one of our few creative passers in a game like this
He kills as much moves and kills as much space as he creates, to me he doesn’t know what he is doing, he’s just running around. However I would take that right now over what Mata is doing. It's not foolish at all. He's an extremely clever player. Knows exactly what he's doing.
Words that maybe can't be said here, but getting Alexis playing marginally better than the start of the season will bring him up to Lingard's level, and improvement beyond that will take us further. If Lingard has been average then lord knows what that makes Alexis since his arrival.

One half without goals and people are bringing the knives out. How about some patience? Did you guys think we would suddenly turn in to world beaters with OGS?
