I think we should try Pereira on the Right wing, like he played in Valencia. He could not be worse than Mata.

    ---------------Lukaku----------------

    ---Sanchez-------Lingard------Pereira

    --------------Matic---------Pogba------

    Shaw-------Bailly-------Smalling------Young

    --------------------DDG-------------------------

Agree completely, Mata is a passenger.

The annoying thing about this game is if we win it'll just make it even more annoying that we made a balls of it at Brighton.

I have to believe we'll respond well after the sad performance against Brighton. Calling it 2-1.

I've rated Bailly as our best defender but he was so abysmal last week I can see him being dropped for Smalling. Martial was disappointing as well but I'd give him the start and go with Sanchez on the right. Young was no better than Darmian, so back to Darmian. I'd love to see Lingard get the start but we have bring Sanchez back and I don't think it would be wise to drop Martial back to the bench for this one. Bring Jesse off the bench as he's done a nice job as a sub.

    De Gea
    Darmian Lindelof Smalling Shaw
    Pereira
    Fred Pogba
    Sanchez Lukaku Martial

Frankly, based on the last game, everyone of those that played should be dropped. But that won't be the smart thing to do. I see Jose playing the same squad with just one or two changes.

Hope we trash them with Alli particularly having a horrid performance and then have our players run up to him and do that stupid fecking Dele Challenge in his face

If the players want Jose out, they should simply lose at home to Spurs while putting up a performance more embarrassing than the one at Brighton. He won't survive that.

Not expecting anything out of the game as we are abysmal, but hoping we put out something like:
    De Gea
    Young Smalling Jones Shaw
    Pogba Matic
    Lingard Sanchez Rashford
    Lukaku

I like that idea. I don't think Matic will start so quickly so probably Fred in there and I'd go with that.

    --------------------De Gea------------------
    Young--------Smalling----Lindelof------Shaw
    -----------------McTominay-------------------
    ---------------Fred-----Pogba---------------------
    Lingard-----------Lukaku---------------Sanchez--

What I think Jose will go with.

We have to trust that our players will respond to the occasion. We've dissected every possible explanation for the abomination against Brighton in other threads except what might be the most obvious explanation, that we simply took the opponent for granted and played down to their level.

We need a fast start Monday. Get the crowd going, knock the ball about with some purpose and make Spurs work to retain possession.

Just not sure which United will turn up at the moment so I've took the safe bet and gone 0-5 Spurs (Kane X 5)

Right, I'm ready for our weekly match against Real Madrid.

Hopefully we can nick a cheap 1-0 win this time if our bus is sturdy enough.

Would be nice if we out in a great performance to match a great result.

Just looking for the big players to collectively turn up to a big game. Feel like we've been waiting for years for that to happen. Can we have the players win the game rather than the tactics.

Win this and we are 1 point from City. Silly of me to say but for our confidence and to move up the table quite some bit would be excellent.

I really hope we beat Spurs we need a huge lift. The players, the club, manager, everyone.

We’re guareteed to see a shit show a few weeks after though. Really starting to doubt this manager is the one to take us forward even if we beat Spurs. You’re right it could lift the club though so here’s hoping.

Would love him to just throw in Angel Gomes into a big game like this and see what happens. He really can’t play any worse that the established attackers played last Sunday. He won’t though....

Jose is here to stay for this season (provided the wins are coming) so we may as well hope that things improve.

We just need to stick with the top bunch that's all. I'm not expecting us at all to go top before Xmas or even gain a lead. What I would like is for us to just go on a nice run of wins not letting the top 4 out of reach.

Last season the City loss where we went 11 points behind? that was the end for us.

I've said previously this club will only do something when there is a danger of not getting that CL money. Jose has had an 8 day break. If he doesn't pull out the fireworks for this game, at least give us a win.

I don't think you should expect a good performance, sadly.

We have been pretty poor since the last third of last season and I have seen nothing to make me think that the performances are going to get better.
Our problem is that we are lazy when pressing the opponent and we are too lazy to attack. We are slow to attack, purposely kill our own counter attacks and I don't quite know what McKenna and Carrick are doing with the players. It's like the players have forgotten that the aim of the game is to score goals.

I must admit, it does seem that whoever play, it's like we are up against the best team in the World.
Need to park the bus and stay in our own half, while we watch our opponent attack us.

He barely even played the kid in preseason. If one youth player has a snowball's chance in hell of even making the match day squad it's Chong.

Literally no manager on this planet would do that.

Do we have any players coming back for this game? Matic/Valencia/etc?

I bet Lloris has had more shots on target tonight than we'll manage Monday.

This is Spurs game to lose.

    But they might Spurs it.

    Is it though?

This is a tough away fixture for anybody in the league. You had a poor performance last week but that's not necessarily a sign that the sky is falling in, we're likely to see a response from you and at home your record against the top six is impressive. You're extremely difficult to break down in these kind of games and will always have that presence on the counter, and like I said I expect to see some of the players really go for it and try to shut up some of the media talk. One bad loss doesn't suddenly make you a terrible team.

I think it's very possible it'll end up 1-0/2-1 to you or something, and people will go 'they Spurs'd it!', when really we would have just lost in a tight game away to the side who finished second last season. Again, I think people are overreacting to one bad performance because they didn't like Mourinho/his style to start with.

This is Spurs game to lose.

    But they might Spurs it.

Spurs have scored Zero Goals and had Zero points at Old Trafford since Potch too over. It's not their game to lose.

    Lads.. Come on.. It's spurs.

    0-0 for sure..

Don't get this at all, since McKenna and Carrick came in it has been obvious that we're trying to move the ball quicker and transition quicker. It takes time, especially when you've got positionless everywhere players like Mata/Pogba/Martial to shoehorn into the attack.
