No excuses. Yeah, we are without Pogba but we are at home and they are without Kane, Dembele and Wanyama. Nothing short of a good performance and result will do. Keep the bus away.

Lindelof vs Kane or Alli would be like putting a big eyed kitten on the road to be run over. Spare him please.

    LOL. Yep.
Even during pre-season, when pressure/expectation/intensity was lower, he struggled. Many thought this was due to nerves, first time playing for MUFC, etc.
Bu now, in the season proper, he is still struggling.
It is staggering to think that this guy plays for Sweden and has won league titles in Portugal.

Are people really saying that? Most of the posts I've seen are happy he's out.
They would be if we weren't playing Spurs this week. There are rarely complaints when an opponent player gets injured for a game against us. It's only considered bad if you suggest an injury is good because it would hurt them / help us in the long term.

Lukaku will again be isolated in the final third as we park our glorious bus at Old Trafford this time.

    More long ball footy anyone?

I would love it if Jose parked a big fat double decker bus for 90 minutes and we got a 1-0 win. I actually want this to happen.
The meltdown in the caf and the moaning over beating Spurs will make for fantastic reading.

Jose would have setup the team to defend regardless but after the last 2 games is gonna be unbareable to watch....defend defend defend!

But anything can happen and I’m hoping Lukaku can pull something out of the bag.

TBF, that is exactly what a manager should do.
When his teams are free-scoring, he can afford to let them off the reigns. After all, even if the opponent scores 2, we can 3 or 4 or 5.
But when things are a bit dicey, as they are now (1 goal in our last 2 league games?), then the manager needs to make us really tight at the back. That means, no Lindelof. This guy will concede a goal if he plays.

    Pogback and Kanjured.

Just look at his eyes

Spurs are a good side even without Kane. They'll be out to prove that they are not the Harry Kane team.

So how will they line up?

    ------------------------Lloris
    ------Alderweireld--Sanchez--Vertonghen
    Aurier--------------------------------------Rose
    ------------------------Dier
    --------------Eriksen---------Alli
    ---------------------------------------Heung-min
    ----------------------Llorente

Would like to see us line up thus:

    -----------------------De Gea
    --------Bailly---ö----Smalling-----Jones
    Tony--------------------------------------Young
    -----------------------------Matic
    --------------Herrera---------
    Mkhi---------------------------------------Martial
    ------------------------Rom

This might seem like parking the oft mentioned bus, but without midfield options I think we'd do well by having more liberated full backs. Could see Mkhi drift further infield to support Romelu with Herrera providing cover to guard against Rose. Of course, Bailly and Ander are both listed as doubts.

There shouldn't be any excuses for this game.

Honestly can’t wait for this game as I feel Jose has kinda been backed up against a fence and needs to go for it, and Pochettino seems like he has something to prove as well and I think he’ll go to OT expecting to put down a marker.

Neither team can really afford to not win and allow City a further advantage.

Poch will have to prove that they are not a "Harry-Kane-Team" (by Pep)

Kane is out; we will have Jones and, hopefully, Bailly back in defence. I think we're going to make a real statement tomorrow: I've gone for 3-0 on the predictor.

    4-2-1-3

DDG, Valencia, Jones, Bailly (Smalling), Darmian, Matic, Herrera, Mata, Martial, Rashford, Lukaku

Make or break for me tomorrow with regards to attending games. Been to Basel, Everton and Crystal Palace recently and the atmosphere has been shite at every one. Even got a complaint after the Everton game (via the club) for joining in with chants and standing up. Feck that.

I think we will be ready for this game. We had an extra day over spurs, Jones Being available is a boost and Mkhitaryan got a midweek break finally so hoping he's recharged and ready.

Really hope we don't see Lukaku isolated again. Give the guy some support and he'll score you goals.

Throwing two up front would be a bold move and would be something i would love to see.

I expect them to be the other way around. Mkhi starting on the right and Mata down the middle is just my preference for this game. Mkhi was great last season against Spurs on the right, he was making runs in behind all game and that's where his goal came from. We'll most likely set up to counter attack on Saturday and I think we need some pace on the wings.
You're preaching to the converted here. I just don't think Mou sees it that way for whatever reason.

Your sarcasm radar is not working properly. Trust me I'm not all doom and gloom like you.
So just because I think City are favorites for the league title I'm "all doom and gloom"? Shut it.

Probably sub, Bailly tends to be a bit rusty after layoffs and internationals.
agreed. Its an added boost having him on the bench though. dont think we need his speed as much with spurs. Smallings areal ability will be much more needed

    De Gea
    Bailly Smalling Jones
    Valencia Herrera Matic Young
    Mkhi Lukaku Rashford

Subs: Romero, Lindelof, Darmian, McTominay, Mata, Lingard, Martial

    Boring but comfortable 2-0 win.

Spurs will be prepared for this as they knew Kane wasn't going to be involved and planned accordingly. Everyone felt comfortable with Mane out for Liverpool and Liverpool, albeit at Juanfield, played well. Spurs have an on form Eriksen and Song to deal with. Alli will be a threat with his movement and cnutishness attitude. Hopefully Smalling, assuming he starts, can control Llorente.

Regardless, Spurs are a far more agile, pacey and higher energy team as a unit than United. This will not be easy just because 'arry Kane is out with Wanyama and Dembele. They have more than capable players who embrace their role and do it effectively.

    I'll go with a 2-1 United scoreline.

With my head, I'd predict a score draw. Spurs with or without Kane are a pretty solid side and United aren't in great form.
