    De Gea
    Valencia Jones Bailly Young
    Herrera Matic
    Mata Mkhitaryan Rashford
    Lukaku

    Think that's the line-up we'll see aswell.

Quite a few players need to step up today.

    Valencia
    Young
    Herrera
    Mata
    Mkhi
Lukaku even. Prove he can boss a big game.

    De Gea
    Valencia Bailey Jones Blind
    Herrera Matic
    Mata Mkhi Rashford
    Lukaku

Simple lineup nothing fancy and a comfortable 3-0 win
Same but would swap Mata and Mikhi and Smalling in for Jones because although I like Blind at LB he is slow so we would need Smalling's pace.

I want to see a change where we play old style of left footers on the left and right footers on the right our play becomes so slow with players checking back and cutting inside into congested areas.

Might as well surrender this game to Spurs, we don't deserve to win the title since we play so negative. A win for us is a loss for football.

    I'm so sophisticated

Don't think we will win the title.

Lose here and our focus will fully be on a fight for top 4.

Negetive mentality. Old trafford is our fotress. We will win this one, Our defenders are back and new system will balance our attacking misbalance.

Feeling positive for this one, think we will do them, especially without Kane.
Might be a good time to close gap on City, WBA will get something today I reckon.

Love the optimism! need more of that around here
Judging by some posters you'd swear spurs are peak Barca and we're still managed by Moyes

If our full backs overlapped them this wouldn’t be a problem but your spot on. We lack a midfield runner when playing 3 in midfield also but Jose will sort this out given the funds at his disposal.

We dont lack a midfeild runner ,Pogba is supposed to be one. We have important injuries. What is stopping us to play mkh in the middle as a midfeild runner nothing but only our ball circulation and system set up. We have all the tools , one needs to use it to maximum use which is not being done.

The biggest obstacle to our victory today will be Lloris, today is the battle of the two best keepers in the league.

To win today as I think that we will; will mean scoring past a very good goalkeeper his own right, so our players will have to be right on their best form.

He always had a bit of a mistake in him. When I think about Spurs, he isn't really on my list of concerns. De Gea is on an entirely different level to him.

Bastard. I can't watch this live. I am going out for curry with three women. We'll talk about make-up and knickers probably.
    8.30pm kick off here.
As a woman who loves makeup (and knickers) I must say I feel slightly disappointed... Curry is awaful!

No matter what the circumstance or the reference or the build up, there's something about these big games that gets me all riled up a few hours before kick off. Sincerely wishing for a convincing performance and a victory!

    Come on United!!

October and some of you are so negative and cringeworthy after 1 defeat and a very respectable draw!

Today is a massive game and a chance to get a good run going and beat one of the top sides!

    Have you turned into Ban?

Its the best way to deal with the shite that is the match day threads.

Luckily the game is on TV so I don't need to get updates from this thread during the game.

big positive with kane out. However my larger worry (in regards to the last two PL games) is the MUFC midfield being really below par atm. I'm hoping the hudderfield mistakes and the midweek win boost confidence enough to try and dictate the game early but it's all about ball retention.

People want to continually talk about "parking the bus". I'd advise them to rewatch the liverpool and huddersfield games, our turnover and passing decision making was horrific.

Teams are isolating lukaku and the midfield turns the ball over way too much. That also makes lukaku fall deep, giving the opposition more time in our half and making lukaku have to create attacks from about half way, instead of finishing them. After liverpool and huddersfield the midfield has got to put on a better showing. Retain possession, get the wingers up and get lukaku involved around the box.

At our best, we should be dominating Spurs without Kane. However it's up to the midfield to make this happen.

I don't think there's a chance in hell this squad and Mourinho is gonna give up on a title and focus on top 4 in bloody October.
Well they aren't so winning the title if they 8 plus points behind City at this point of the season. Especially with our historically toughest fixture up next.

We were out of the title race in September last season. We didnt have to give up on it. But we were out of it.

I expect tottenham to set up in a 352 today with llorente and ali uptop erikson floating in mid and attacking mid dembele and wayanama in the middle .

City will drop points too, We are not out out it but a defeat will make our job harder . But in no way i expect us to be beaten here.

Match day threads are the worst yet I somehow tend to pop in. Not today though.

Didn't city overcome an 8 point gap at March/April to pip us in 2012. Not saying we will win the title but far too early to make those statements.

Chose a back three in my team prediction, what with the threat of Kane, Jones and Bailly (probably) being available today and JM's liking of keeping things tight in big games, but I wonder if he will go that way now Kane is (apparently) ruled out with injury.
Would just like to see United going out and winning this by playing the better football, regardless. I do think it will be a draw though.
