Another great ball from Blind and great finish by Mata and Memphis. Thank feck for that added time.

I have to say though, that we've been extremely underwhelming. We look solid in our own third but with Schneiderlin and Carrick together our first pass forward is happening from too far back so Mata, Martial, Rooney, and Memphis all have to start from deep positions. We must've set a record for passes taken with our backs to goal, which is pretty useless since there is no one playing off each other to continue the run forward.

Oh and Valencia :lol:

Blind is becoming one of my favorite players, when he passed that ball I just know that will find a player in the box. To have a player with this vision in defense where he often have time to look for the pass is just so big bonus.

But tbf bad half of football mostly because of the still of play from Sunderland players which is very fisical and because they are just looking how to waste as much time as possible.

Seems like I'm the only one who enjoys watching us at the moment, well controlled first half. Nice passes from midfield to front 4. Good attempts to beat men from Martial and Depay and eventually a breakthrough goal. Lets see more of the same in the second half 1 or 2 more goals and a clean sheet.

Not sure will Rooney ever adapt on this type of football,he looks so bored so does not matter if he is striker or number 10,he comes so deep,funny thing even if he plays as CM in 3 man midfield with point back,he destroys triangles.

Boring first half tbh. But we are leading so relieved.

Hopefully that calms the players, Sunderland come out a bit more and we use the pace of Martial / Memphis (or Young) second half.

Rooney needs to realise hes a number 10. He needs to stop dropping deep and do his job for the team. (unless hes told to drop that deep, which makes no sense as we had Carrick and Morgan there that deep).

Mata is one of those players that always scores a goal when questions start getting asked. He's very good at masking how average he is a lot of the time.

Our No.10 (Rooney) is useless.
I now treat him like Falcao - I accept that he wont score/assist and that when he is on the pitch, we are effectively playing with 10 men.
Eventually LVG will be unable to ignore the stats. A non-scoring striker has no right to play for MUFC.

Lots of people expecting us to play like Fergie's best team, just because it's Sunderland.

This is our style of play now and while it's not always great to watch we're top of the league at the moment. What is missing, still, is the final ball. Mata wasted a few chances to put people in.

Excellent pass from Blind and one from Mata as well - it's very hard to tame that ball just perfectly so that Depay could've tap it in.

We need Schweinsteiger and Herrera for Schneiderlin and Carrick. Young for Valencia would be good option as well.
