Bit surprised seeing Rooney and Valencia getting all the hate. Carrick and Schneiderlin have been the poor ones for me. Everything will change if they make an effort to speed things up and make runs forward, like what Bastian can do.

    I made a good pun

    Walkin by Memphis

    nobody said so

Considering how awful Sunderland is, we have made life hard for ourselves.

The Man Utd midfield is totally disjointed. There's very little cohesion or creativity coming from that area. Blind and Smalling have offered more attacking impetus stepping out from centre back than anyone in midfield. Schneiderlin and Carrick are playing in the same areas and there is nobody linking the play. Rooney is trying to link the play. However, Rooney is having to cover big distances because of the positioning of our double pivot, and it does not help that he is nowhere near top form.

I hope Memphis' goal will give him a confidence boost, his decision making has been dreadful. Memphis has the beating of the Sunderland left back but, perhaps due to low morale, he has been doing all the wrong things first half. Darmian has also looked occasionally quite shaky at left back.

I would introduce Bastian for Schneiderlin and Herrera for Rooney early in the second half if things don't improve. Fortunately its Sunderland, so we should be able to play this one out for a 1-0. Bad performance though so far.

We are playing a team that are threatened by relegation 365 days a year, even in the off season.

I'm not sure what's to enjoy from that performance. It's aimless, unimaginative and boring. We spent the whole half, as usual, passing the ball from back to front and front to back.

Watching the team you support? That's usually the enjoyable bit.

I've noticed you seem to struggle with this concept on a weekly basis. We don't okay 1990s hung ho wing football anymore, nobody does in the professional game unless they are desperate or managed by a Neanderthal.

If you can enjoy the team you support, on the verge of going top, well..... What else is there to say?

Blind has been very good with his long passing. Becoming a real asset to us specially given the lack of attacking by our full backs.

So much poor passing into the box in that first half. Thought I would crack up. Thankfully the goal relieved my frustration a bit. Still though, the final ball was shocking more or less the whole game.

Nothing new this but we are so slow in our buildup and it's frustrating as feck to watch.

Memphis is actually more productive than Mata this season

4 goals and 4 assists, more than Mata's 2 goals and 5 assists.

I'm not really surprised as we're on the caf, but i genuinely don't know why most of you are united fans. You seem to hate most of our team and spend the entire game posting stuff like "shithouse".

I always enjoy watching united. We've not been great today, but we are winning, and we've looked comfortable.

I'm not saying you can't be unhappy but feck me you lot are miserable. I'd get another hobby if i was you lot.

Valencia has been very good. Rooney needs to be closer to Martial.

In the second half Sunderland will have to come at us.

Thinkm we will have more chances.

It's really hard to say what Rooney is doing. Not pressing, not linking midfield with attack and not really linking up with attacking players.

    Substitution for Sunderland

    Fletcher for Johnson.
We are rubbish team with an old fashioned manager who play boring football .... according to some .... and yet sit top of the table right now.

Wonder what we'll be like if we were any good?

    Second-half kick-off
More and more chances being created? I think I'll have to switch over to whatever game you're watching.

Did you see the spurs game at the start of the season?

Have you perhaps missed the incessant whining from an ever decreasing number of posters about how we only have one shot or so...

    We are certainly creating more.

    Second-half kick-off

    United back on

Someone called Stephen Fletcher is on for Sunderland, he has a good beard

    Goal for Manchester United

    Wayne Rooney
What a start to the second-half and Rooney's 11 game Premier League goal drought is over.

He owes Martial a big thank you as the Frenchman dribbles past two players in the box and picks out the United captain in the six yard area and he guides it in with his knee.

Goal scored 38 seconds into the second-half. Let's go smash these guys...
