Who should be being sold/moved/given away for freeAntony is coming on
How have we wasted so much money
Who should be being sold/moved/given away for freeAntony is coming on
One thing I was hoping Amorim was gonna bring to the table is aggressive pressing from the front but instead we’re set up defensively with 5 at the back with very little initiative to take the ball back as quickly as possible. Disappointing. We are set up cowardly. We’re not pressing as a team, but seem content to sit deep at home against Southampton. And when we have the ball, we either pass it around the back line or hoof it aimlessly at a poor striker. Bizarre tactics. Very disappointing from Amorim.
In fairness last season we should have finished 14th we got some very lucky results, 8th papered over the cracks we are seeing now the truthETH didn’t leave us in 15th.
Me too. I'm such a foolI was expecting better ...
It's quite simple..we are playing too deep and passing is slow. We are sitting back and inviting pressure... against bloody Southampton. It's totally mental. He should be finding solutions on how to improve our game play and making us more efficient in attack. Can see us conceding again straight after halve time as we will be going all out attack
It's easy though when you're handed a mentally destroyed squad that don't fight any more. But failed. His successor succeeded
What energy and intensity? There is none, we’ve gone back to pre Liverpool laziness. The gaps we are seeing between our lines is either we aren't athletic enough to do it or our energy and intensity is back to its usual. Or maybe both. I don't know....sigh.
Nonsense, we are struggling to play out because they are tactically better than us. Over to Amorim to tweak the instructions or the shape. We need wide players further up the pitch. The gaps we are seeing between our lines is either we aren't athletic enough to do it or our energy and intensity is back to its usual. Or maybe both. I don't know....sigh.
Having a few shots does not mean anything. He's missed an open goal and put other shots wide. His decision making has been poor and he keeps losing the ball in bad areas. I don't think any other player has been as bad as him. They've not been good either, but Garnacho 100% should be subbed after that half.At least he’s had a few shots, what’s anyone else done?
There is literally zero press from Soton. We have all the time in the world then just hoof the ball at Hojlund to loose it. We look tired which makes sense after the Arsenal game.People focus far too much on this “lack of effort” we have tactically been played off the pitch here. I don’t see a lack of effort, I see a load of players who don’t know how to play out the press and constantly look like they have no options. That has to be tactical and Amorim still had a lot of work to do!
Antony is coming on
As am I. Curse my misguided optimism.Me too. I'm such a fool
I don't think it's changed, it's just against strong teams we are pinned back a lot and don't need to move as much. Now we have space to cover and reality sets in.The gaps we are seeing between our lines is either we aren't athletic enough to do it or our energy and intensity is back to its usual. Or maybe both. I don't know....sigh.
ETH didn’t leave us in 15th.
I’ll take lucky results and points on the board than this any day.In fairness last season we should have finished 14th we got some very lucky results
Yoro is in real trouble against Sulemana here. Gets burned again and again.Yoro and Amad together has been very poor. No control on the right. There is no midfield as usual. Onana with a huge double save and Garancho needs to score that.
We lack pace and desire
How depressing is that…we really havé a shite team. Calling Antony to save the day…Bring on Antony and Malacia. Maybe Zirkzee and Collyer as well.
Yh he should have an assist but he's been missing this game. I always go back to the WB problem though, I don't think we've seen either push on or take anyone one/try to come inside. We're just sat behind their massive wall of shirts passing between the back line and then lumping it.It also doesn’t help to have a striker that is a non factor in the air AND can’t hold it up to save his life.
Southampton are daring Hojlund to hurt them and apart from the channel ball Bruno gave him that he put on a plate for Garnacho, he can’t do it.
I actually think that Højlund has bOnly Amad has played well.
Højlund has not been bad, but every pass he has had has been a long, high ball from the defense. Højlund has created the only two chances we have had anyway.Take off Garnacho, Mainoo and fecking Hojlund
Bit of bothThe gaps we are seeing between our lines is either we aren't athletic enough to do it or our energy and intensity is back to its usual. Or maybe both. I don't know....sigh.
I really didn't want to jump on this bandwagon. He was our best player over the first half a dozen games this season but I'm starting to think it's a best for everyone job right now.He can't do basic stuff, his decision making is Championship level
I am over it. But we’ve not improved we’ve got worseETH was 13th, and would have been worse if he still remained. He is trash, and gone, get over it.
Holes? So much for a back 3. We are a back 5 and leaving hikes in MF
We finished where we should have. We also got some unluckly calls early in the seasonIn fairness last season we should have finished 14th we got some very lucky results, 8th papered over the cracks we are seeing now the truth
