  • Amad is the real deal. Zirzkee shut up some haters after coming on, Hojlund is a dud and we have to accept it and just keep starting Zirzkee, at least he's playing like a man with something to prove.

    Antony should not see the inside of Old Trafford for the rest of his stay here, which will hopefully end soon.
    Very good signs from Zirkee but let's see how it goes. He has had some shockers before this.

    That tackle De Ligt did on their winger was what Yoro should have done the first time he got turned. Just needed to take everything and let him know he was going to be on him like flies in shit.

    He's still young though, so he'll learn
    Southampton did to us in the wide areas what we did to Trent against Liverpool. Loaded the ball in the gap and pushed the wingback close to the winger to create uncertainty between wingback and centre back. It was hard for Yoro out there and Sulemana probably had one of the best games of his life.

    I don't care for xG. We were utter shit for most the game.
    Exactly. People talk about xG like it’s some holy grail. I’ve never bought into it. A team/player scores a chance or they don’t, no need to add some strange formula to it.

    Thats fair

    But we could easily have been down 3 at half time.

    We could have been 2 up before that if Garnacho buried the easy chance and we got the stonewall pen that was not given for some reason.

    When we did not take our chances, they got confidence. Did not help that the likes of Yoro, Mainoo and even Ugarte decided to play poorly at the same time.

    fecking hell, I'm amazed that some posters here survive the week.
    Shambolic, relegation ect ect, feck me people you need to keep calm a bit.

    That was a very poor outing though. VERY. As bad as anything we've seen this season. At least for the first 80 minutes. Which, considering the pressure that was piled on ahead (Amorim saying we have to bring it not just for the big games, and this game would tell him more about the team than the Liverpool game) is pretty concerning. Late to every ball, lack of defensive structure, no effective transition or build-up game. Another corner feckup, for good measure. Embarrassing. Credit to Amad for keeping the faith and not giving up. Bruno and Zirkzee too:

    We do need to keep calm, however the team are truly awful, they have no consistency and Amorim has now had 14 games in charge and by now we should start to see consistency and a team pattern, not one good result, followed by two poor, then followed by two good?

    He’s won 5 matches , Drawn 3 and Lost 6 Goals scored 23
    Goals Against 25
    In the PL he’s won 3 drawn 2 Lost 5. GS14 GA 17 points 11 average points 1.1 per game over 38 matches that’s 42 points over a 38 game season and would mean one thing for Ruben?
    The Sack !

    Pros and Highlights;
    1. Carefully stabilised our Europa League campaign and climbed the Table
    2. Qualified for the 4th Round of the FA Cup by beating Arsenal with only 10 men away
    3. Beat City Away in the EPL
    4. Got his team to produce a very good performance at Anfield
    5. Looks to suffer no nonsense with players who think they are too big for the club
    6. He’s a very honest coach, sometimes to honest and needs to reign some of his comments in(No United Manager should ever use the word relegation in a press conference!)
    7. Has definitely improved and recognised players like Amad, Ugarte and Maguire.
    8. His use of Substitutions is generally good but sometimes mystifying.

    Cons/Concerns ;
    1. Win Percentage is 35% in all games and 30% in the EPL, if that doesn’t improve to 50% by the end of the season, he won’t last very long.
    2. He will ostracise certain players and that’s fine, but they are still assets of the club, some are now losing value in the transfer market, at Sporting you could be that decisive and it would not matter but at a huge club like United it does!
    3. He still has zonal marking for set pieces and there has been no improvement whatsoever in conceding goals, if anything its actually got worse!
    4. He still doesn’t know his best team as he likes to tinker and change quite a lot
    5. His team still do not score enough goals his United in the PL are averaging 1.4 goals scored and overall 1.64, this needs to be 2 by the end of the season so the club need to find him an elite Striker and soon.
    United had scored 32 in their previous 18 games under ETH/RVN which was 1.78 per game and said to be nowhere near enough. However to be balanced we have created as many big chances but fail to score, maybe not having Rashford who is still our best finisher has something to do with this and that’s his and the correct decision for the club but INEOS must buy a new striker and soon!
    6. His team in the PL concedes 1.7 goals and 1.78 overall that’s far too high and will get him the sack. For context we had conceded 20 goals in the previous 18 matches under ETH/RVN! So he has taken a team that defensively at least we’re pretty sound conceding 1.11 goals per game to 1.78 that’s shocking and after 14 games, he should now know that needs to improve immediately.
    6. His clear lack of PL experience has been shown, it’s clear that he’s definitely trying to learn the job as he goes along, he’s made a lot of mistakes however he has the character and force of will that may be the only way to drag United out of the doldrums, however players he requests might not be afforded the same luxury and United should now be looking to recruit Mostly PL proven players to fit his system and take control of recruitment.
    7. His press briefings are both magnificent but also highly naive, if you say a club like United are not ready to beat teams like wolves, Bournemouth, Southampton, Ipswich and could be relegated, you will not last very long in the job, he needs to find a way and quickly how to beat the weaker teams, for all ETH derision during his 2 and bit year stint, he mostly beat the bottom 6/8 clubs regularly.
