Fupping 3 at the back again. :wenger:

We are so negative and bland and we also look like we will concede on every attack opponents go on so far using that formation, it just looks so weak.

just play the freaking team and diamond formation that some of these caf members have posted it's a much better formation and will suit us more.

Disappointed Falcao isn't starting too what will it take to drop the unde performing Rooney or van Persie. Falcao better get decent minutes when he does come on and not a chicha 10 minute job.

It is 4 at the back, not 5. Rojo LB, rafeal RB

MUTV still think we'll play 3 at the back. They are saying that this means Di Maria will play wingback on MUTV. I think that Blind will play left wingback and Di Maria in midfield.

How many times has Louis Van Gaal said the formation is not important and the philosophy is?

So many clueless journos, pundits, radio people saying he has abandoned his philosophy. 3-5-2 isn't what he's always played is it?

So it looks like a diamond right?

    Blind

    Herrera Di Maria

    Mata

Or will Mata play on the wing, with Herrera and Blind in CM and ADM on the other wing.

I may be wrong, but I think this is the formation tbh

    De Gea

    Rafael, Evans, Blackett, Rojo
    Blind
    Herrera, Di Maria
    Mata
    Van Persie, Rooney
Of course we could always change formations mid game with that team anyway.

Looks like a great team. If you ccompare that to the team that played against Swansea, there's a massive improvement. In theory we should play a lot better.

With Falcao on the bench, Rooney and RVP will have to bust their asses to keep their place in the team. Are they up to it? we'll see.

That my friends is one sexy mother sucking team , if it is back 4 then I'm guessing...

    ----------Dave---------

    Rafael--Evans--Blackett---Rojo

    ----Herrera--Blind---Mata

    Rooney----V.Persie----Di Maria

With that front 3 all interchanging and Mata would be more in behind the striker.

Who's more likely to play on the left wing out of ADM or Mata? If they both play wingers in this 4222

LVG confirmed to the BBC that it's 4 at the back! Great news. He said it was four in midfield too with Rooney and RVP up front so I guess that means that it's the diamond in midfield.

Liking the sound of the line-up today, 4-4-2 diamond sounds good!

That Norwegian guy is obviously clueless if he thinks we are playing 4-4-2. This could still be the dreaded 3-5-2 yet.

It is 4 at the back, not 5. Rojo LB, rafeal RB

It wasn't fully clear when I wrote that and it still isn't, lots of different opinions on how we will line up, some places saying 3 at the back some saying 4.....sod it I'll just wait for sky line ups haha

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal on Sky Sports:
"We will play with four at the back today, in midfield we play with four and Robin van Persie and Wayne Rooney up front.

"I don't have five defenders fit so it was easier for me to decide the formation. Chris Smalling and Phil Jones are injured so I have to use the players I have available.

"Falcao has come from Colombia and has jetlag and he has to adapt to the culture and all the new players so I don't think it was right to start with him today."

So, you are basically implying we will not be in cpl football by next season? I do not believe it is asking for much. Good players are capable of performing well with one and another. And we have some great players. So, I expect them to play like contenders for bpl title or cpl football against arguable one of the pooriest team in the league.
I'm not implying anything. The team might not click, play dreadfully and still collect points.

There have been far too many changes to the team to expect it to click like the finished articles that the current BPL contenders like Man City and Chelsea are.

As it is, the team has been playing dreadfully (presumably due to too many changes to coach, system, players leaving, players joining, etc) and adding even more new players who haven't even had time to train with the first team, let alone had a pre season together isn't going to change things drastically.

I think a more realistic expectation would be for the team to play dreadully, but a few moments of individual brilliance wins the game for us.

Teams don't get built overnight and Rome sure wasn't built in a day. I think it's more prudent to be patient and give it a few more months and I'm sure the quality of the game will improve.

In the meantime, I just hope the team keeps doing enough to stay within catching distance of the leaders until then.
