Schneiderlin came back a full week before Rooney.
He got injured before Rooney too though. Not that it really matters when it comes to injuries. Recovery varies from person to person and depends on the injury itself of course.

What was that definition of insanity again? Whatever it was, a great example would be diarm picking the side I think should be picked in the lineup predictor every. fecking. week.

Young RB, Blind LB, Jones and Smalling at CB. Only real questionmark is where the front four will play, but I think there should be a bit of moving around with them
Guessing Rooney up top to start with, possibly playing off of Martial (he'll be a 9 I'm guessing) with Memphis and Mata out wide? Then depending on how it goes, a lot of interchanging to be done. Although, we could easily see Memphis and Martial on either flank with Rooney up top and Mata in behind (which begs the question, where does Fellaini play... if it's in a midfield two, then I fecking despair).

    mate. Stop it.

    Fellaini and rooney attacking ?
It is an attacking side. That the players have been shit recently doesn't change that fact. It's the most attacking side LvG could have put out, with the exception of Herrera in for Carrick (which would be suicidal in terms of ball retention). Herrera for Fellaini would have been nice, but he's only just back. Schneiderlin for Fellaini also, but that would be more negative than the side we've fielded.

On paper, this is as attacking a side as we can field without being completely mental.

A lot of players back today, which is obviously great news - however I hope he's not rushed them back. We don't want players like Smalling or Schneiderlin being out for any length of time.

I will forgive you if you get a nice girl you know to send me a recipe for keema curry. I told the wife I would make one this Christmas.

You want it in typical Indian style yeah? I'll get my mom to write it down for me and PM it to you.

Good match for Rooney to come back into. Should be a comfortable win. 1-0

He looks like scoring but it's not helping us because whoever he has abandoned in midfield, is crowded out and we have no control of the game.

Not really. We still controlled the game last week. It was just obviously an instruction from Van Gaal to get forward as quick as possible, just encase any crosses get put in, which makes perfect sense. I mean, what's the point of having him on the pitch if we're not going to play to one of his strengths?

Of course Herrera is on the bench.
Even I had him on the bench, but he said Young had a knock, so I had Morgan playing and Varela. Also wasn't sure he would risk Smalling. So I got 8 right and it has completely buggered by subs. Herrera better come on to get me a point.

What has Rooney and Fellaini done to deserve a starting place today. I don't want us to lose but if a mauling means that both of them and maybe LvG are kicked out of our club I'll be over the moon.

I support the club, don't have to support all the players.

Then play him higher up. Also we did not control the game last week. Not even close.

Fellaini was comfortably our best attacker last weekend and our chances went as soon as he left the pitch.

I'm not a massive fan of his, but the blind abuse the bloke gets is mental.

I am absolutely fuming at this lineup. This thick-headed, arrogant, downplaying, Wayne-Rooney-loving manager of ours must get the sack if we don't win today. I am sick of the inconsistency of the guy. One week Varela and Jackson are playing at full back, the next week Young comes in, the youngsters go out and our centre-back partnership is torn up, with Blind being pushed onto the left. Then we have Rooney waltzing back into the team as though he were never away, and Herrera and Schneiderlin miss out for Carrick and Fellaini. Go away, Louis. Just go away.

I can't get a good lineup prediction these days. A third of the starting 11 seems to be a case of who you wouldn't want starting every match.

if you want us to get "a mauling" you are only supporting your opinions of certain individuals and NOT the club.

    nothing wrong with playing fellaini.
it's the position, and over schnedierlin it is just bizarre.

Fair enough, a report did say that Herrera and Smalling had trained for a week so I was going off that and after throwing players like Fellaini and Powell in the team recently I thought he'd get the start as we've really needed him.

Think it's just unfortunate that he had his injury the same time as Rooney more than anything.

PS: Also had Morgan, Varela and 8 right.

because his positioning is f**king awful and leaves us far too open.

stick him at 10 with two sitting behind him if we're desperate, but he shouldn't get a look in if herrera, schneiderlin & schweinsteiger are available.

Of course his positioning is going to be a bit suspect if we're asking him to get into the box every time we attack. It's the same reason Schneiderlin and Schweinsteiger have looked defensively sound. It's because they give us very little going forward. Something has to be sacrificed. Either get forward and look more open but score more goals, or stay back and look dull like we have done for most of the season.

Toure is exactly the same at Man City. Gets forward a lot, which leaves City very open, at times, but more often than not, makes sure he produces the goods going forward. Having said that, Toure has a very mobile Fernandinho or Fernando next to him most of the time, which makes up for his lack of workrate. This is why I'd probably have Schneiderlin in there to partner Fellaini, but then you lose the passing range of Carrick.

Jones has played over Blind every time he's been fit, in that at least LVG has been consistent.

LVGs team selection has certainly frustrating at times. Sad to see Fellaini the midfield anchor dragging in the mud instead of the sprightly Herrera, who can put our attack into another gear.

NEVER before have I not looked forward to a united game.

There's your cue Database boy, go go go!!!

I would expect a senior player would be the best player in what was effectively an U21 side. It's not a blind abuse, he like Rooney do not deserve to start a game. Their involvement is nothing to the with form which isn't fair or right but by names. They aren't even names that scare anyone apart from our fans.

It just goes to show that nothing has really changed.
All players need to attain "match rhythm" before getting a start (which is fair enough).
    Except for Rooney.

Any reason why Schneiderlin is on the bench? Do not like Fellaini.
