We should win this and have gone for 2-0. With a few seniors back and the team having hopefully addressed the failings of the last debacle, we should be back on track. If we lose this I can't see LVG surviving; the season has turned mad and a loss will expose him and the board to serious criticism.

First ten games we looked really good too, such a shame we couldn't keep it up else we'd be comfortably top :(

    fellaini deeper in midfield again.

Where is schneiderlin or herrera, this guy makes it so hard to defend him.

Fellaini was one of our better players last week, so him playing isn't ridiculous, its just hard to make a case when he's in that position.
He's pants when played in deep positions.

I respected LVG for playing him as an advanced CM/10 last year, that is where he shines. We learnt form the moyes era that he isn't good enough when played as a DM

What's the team? Can't see twitter at work

you know what let me just chill, the game hasn't even started yet and I'm moaning

    come on MUFC

Typical Van Gaal move frankly. Given up trying to be optimistic about him. Always trying to be too clever by half. That immobile midfield won't have a hope today.

Can this idiot no see that Fellaini in midfield is not working. We have had no control of the midfield since he has played there.

Can't see anything but a win for us. Having listened to the press conference I cant t see him getting the boot. He and United took a calcuated risk in letting so many players go, to give our youth an opportunity. As I have mentioned before I do think like Fergie in his first 3 years he is building a platform for future success. Seems to imply, maybe not intentionally, that Fergie may have taken his foot off the pedal in his latter years leaving quite a large overhaul. Something that Moyes was not up to recognizing or doing something about. I am looking forward to LVGs last year, couple of real stars aged about 25 or 26 would put the next manager in a wonderful place.

Good to see that Smalling is fit to play. Would have liked to see Herrera in place of Fellaini, hope he gets a sub appearance

Our left hand side against a better team would be destroyed today.

Herrera and Schneiderlin on the bench. Ok.

Why are people moaning about Fellaini? He's the one midfielder that actually looks like scoring when playing deeper, which is what we need. He was constantly getting into good positons last week, and on another day he could have had a hat trick. Neither Schweinstieger, Schneiderlin, nor Carrick has done this for us this season.

If you look at the the teams that score plenty of goals, they always have a 8 and a 6, rather than a double 6 pivot. Ramsey, Toure, Cazorla, Dembele can all get goals from deeper positions.

Eventually, I'd like to see Herrera there, but for now, I don't think we can moan because we haven't exactly been pulling up any trees with Schweinsteiger or Schneiderlin in the team, especially in terms of going forward.

A very attacking side. Fellaini will get forward (probably doing feck all in the process, mind). Carrick -- not sure if that's enough to control the midfield as Mata's instinct is also to get forward.

But a hugely positive line-up -- only change I'd like to have seen is Schneiderlin in for Fellaini.
