Why did they write all the players surnames but then wrote Ander Herrera?
I remember many years ago I noticed that commentators said all the Chelsea names the same way except one.
Zola to Hughes. Back to Wise. Hughes. Eddie Newton. Every fecking time. Eddie Newton.

He has Ander Herrera on the back of his shirt doesn't he?

They probably didn't want to confuse him with his mexican cousin, Hector.

Any reason why Schneiderlin is on the bench? Do not like Fellaini.

Bit of a Catch-22; a choice between another defensive minded midfielder next to Carrick or a shit central midfielder that can't string a 5 yard pass but still is a decent threat as an attacking point.

Think I'd go for Fellaini as well if he plays anything like he did against Bournemouth.

We will probably get away with it since its Norwich at home (probably) but I hope we never see Carrick and Fellaini as a two in midfield ever again. I dont remember a decent game (at the very least) with the two. Unless were doing 4141.

Hopefully Herrera gets on, get some "match rhythm" and then starts the next game.

A nice surprise to see that defense. Looks a lot more experienced and solid. In general the team looks a lot better overall. Hope Martial is still up top on his own, with Rooney behind. I see a lot of people moaning about a lack of Herrera but he was never going to start due to the "Match Rhythm" argument we've heard so often. As for why that doesn't apply to Rooney... who knows?

Seriously feck off with Rooney. Herrera is fecking wasted on the bench whilst that shower of shit is starting. Completely undeserved:mad:

if you want us to get "a mauling" you are only supporting your opinions of certain individuals and NOT the club.

Of course I don't want us to lose but this vicious cycle of the Rooney and Fellaini love-in WILL NOT END! They are the only players that have hardly performed ALL season and never need the "match rhythm " to apply to them before just skipping into the starting XI.

The guy is fecking mental, Mr. Philosophy and master of balance, Carrick - Fellaini midfield again, hes not genius, he's just dumb and too stubborn to make his mistakes right it costs us already too many points last season and it will cost us again.. not really commenting on rooney starting straight away, its just nonsense this my captain plays nomatter what and doesnt need to build his fitness let alone he's maybe the worst athlete of our teamas well as player.. fecking bollox.

If we feck up this game then the Dutchman defo needs to go, he doesn't have a clue and yeah I think we will win today, after such bad results, players will have that bit of extra motivation and against the worst club in the premier league away from home we should thrash them anyway...

Schneiderlin is only on the bench, ridiculous!

What has Rooney and Fellaini done to deserve a starting place today. I don't want us to lose but if a mauling means that both of them and maybe LvG are kicked out of our club I'll be over the moon.

I support the club, don't have to support all the players.

The club consists of the manager and all the players amongst others, if you'd be over the moon with United getting a mauling today then you should probably look to find another club to support.

Constructive criticism of the manager and players is fair however you should watch the match with the preference they prove their critics wrong, not in the hope they suffer a humiliating defeat.

Looking forward to this one, think the players will be hyped up to prove something against a poor Norwich.

If they come out flat after the abuse the manager has been getting then I'd say LvGs days are numbered

    Fellaini in midfield again :annoyed:
Nice front four though. Contrary to popular opinion, I like seeing martial out wide if he is there as he gets a lot more involved and can be a more constant threat. Good back 4 as well. Ideally we would have Herrera in for fellaini for a game like today to make it a 4-4-2 but oh well.

My mood drops whenever i see Fellaini starting. But what else is he to do with such a situation?

Then play him higher up. Also we did not control the game last week. Not even close.

If I had a choice, I would play him higher up in a midfield three.

When you say control a game, what do you mean?

Against Bournemouth (with Fellaini) Carrick and Fellaini

    Possession:

    Bournemouth 43% - 57% Man Utd

    Passes:

    Bournemouth 388 - 505 Man Utd

Against Watford (without Fellaini) Schweinstieger and Scheiderlin

    Possession:

    Watford 44% - 56% Man Utd

    Passes:

    Watford 405 - 527 Man Utd

As you can see, there's no difference when Fellaini plays in midfield. We still have a similar amount of possession and passes, but fans see what they want to see. Yes, Fellaini might not get involved in the build up play as much as a midfielder does, but I honestly believe that's down to instructions.

He said very attacking, he never said how well though.
tbh fellaini doesn't make it less attacking, he's just poor as a DM for me.

Rooney walking in irks me because I think we've been attacking better with him gone but now we could be back to square 1. Defending, controlling and not scoring.

I'm looking forward to watching Rooney lose the ball and ruin what little momentum we are actually capable of building up. But now I've said that the fecker will probably score.

Fellaini starting. Herrera on the bench.

    Genius.
He's barely played since the start of November ffs. Some of the pro-Herrera anti-LVG agendas are nauseating.

Chill out. Mauling may be a strong word but most know what I mean!

We played a different system against Watford with Memphis and Lingard up front. We played more direct as well.

I don't think many Manchester United fans know what anyone means when they say they want us to lose to get their own way.

When certain people come to a decision that they dont like manager X, then that opinion will be their core belief. Everything around that (for example common sense)is is just irrelevant at that point.

Pathetic of me but actually contemplating watching the Leicester/ Everton game live and recoding the United game and fast forwarding through it just to see what it might look like for us to play at a quicker pace.

Just to give the Caf some perspective.

Schneiderlin has trained Only ONE day. Which means he's half fit. That's why he's benched.

Fellaini was our best player last week. You have to play him as he's the only guy who can cause an aerial threat and has been consistently playing. Some continuity is needed in this crisis.

If anyone could point me to the nearest running river so I can drown myself in it, it would be much appreciated. Thanks.

Its terribly fun trying to be unbaised. I switch around my perspective just to keep myself on my toes. Everyone should be able to see the sense in the argument against their opinion.

Besides, you can't improve if you don't accept you have shortcomings.

    LVGs job is perfectly safe.

For all those saying that fellaini was our best player last week against Bournemouth, we lost the game playing some of our worst football all year. How the hell can you use that as justification?
