Chins up, amigos. We're getting back some of our key players, Norwich aren't riding very high these days and we're overdue for a win. We're back at Old Trafford and no planes will be flying nasty "LVG Out!" flags.

We'll get the win, but it won't be pretty.

I'll have some of what you're having.

If you expect us to be destroyed by Norwich then it's not much of a leap of logic for you to believe we'll be destroyed for most of the rest of the season, dropping us dangerously close to the relegation zone by May. Is this your expectation?

He certainly isn't, I don't think. But you're being overly optimistic and a little dramatic. Norwich are far from the pushovers you think they are. We certainly can win but given our form, the negativity surrounding the club and our injury list, their pace will trouble us a whole lot.

Sorry, you must not have got the vibe of my post. I love the positivity but it's not often you get that among United fans at the moment.

Smalling, Herrera and Rooney have trained a full week before this game so I expect them to start. Gonna go with:

    ------------- De Gea
    Varela - Smalling - Blind - CBJ
    --- Schneiderlin - Herrera
    Mata ------ Rooney ---- Memphis
    ------------ Martial

Still unsure on the defence though. Maybe have Blind at LB with McNair at CB?

You really think he will play Schneiderlin and Herrera as CMs? Hope he does, but I doubt it.

Yeah mostly wishful thinking on my part, could easily see Carrick and/or Fellaini starting. Still, it's nice to have some options now!

With few bodies coming back I hope we can play the injured player in order to give them minutes before the Stoke (26), Chelsea (28) and Swansea (2) games.

I think that we have to field an attacking minded team for this one, a strong one at Stoke and the best possible against the Russians.

    ------------------------------------------De Gea------------------------------------------
    Varela------------------------Smalling-----------Blind----------------------------BoJack
    ------------------------------------------Carrick-------------------------------------------
    Mata--------------------------Rooney------------Fellaini------------------------Memphis
    ------------------------------------------Martial--------------------------------------------

Seeing Jose getting the sack and Smalling and Herrera coming back has for some reason lifted my spirits. I'm going for a tentative 1-0. Just a half-decent performance with a few exciting attacks will put a smile on my face.

First half against Everton last week, Norwich were one of the most wide open, vulnerable, flapping sides of the season. They are there to be taken. That said Everton went about them in a fluid, attacking, exciting way and only paid in the end for not taking their chances.

Out of interest how many people actually want to see Rooney play? And if you do, where?
I'm pretty sure he will, but a little unsure how I feel about that.

I dont wanna see him play, but we're hardly brimming with alternatives to select from.

Personally i'd play him #10, Martial up front, Mata on the right, Memphis on the left and Hererra next to Schneiderlin in midfield.

As we're playing home I'm not really too concerned with him playing, we will get a win.

    De Gea
    Varela--Jones--Smalling--Blind
    Schneiderlin--Herrera
    Mata--Rooney--Memphis
    Martial

subs: Romero, CBJ, Tuanzebe/Young, Carrick, Fellaini, Pereira, Powell

I don't think Herrera will start though as he's been out for over 3 weeks and Carrick will probably start instead.

I'm getting all excited yet, as I do every week, I'm prepared for the same dull as shite football. I actually do think we can score tomorrow, but I also feel they will as we have looked dire at the back recently. 1-1 and we will squander a few, maybe 2, good chances which will give LvG all the ammo he needs to blame the players again. Back to feeling frustrated again come Saturday night.

So Rooney and Herrera are back from injury. What are the odds Rooney will start this game and Herrera will be back on the bench? :nervous:

I reckon we'll easily beat Norwich. It's Stoke away I'm worried about. If LVG loses that game and against Chelsea during the Christmas period, the pressure will pile up immensely for him.

What has Young done to LVG? I thought he did well at RB when Darmian was on the bench. Surely he should be in the starting lineup given the injuries we have at the moment.

He mentioned that Young has an injury and may be a doubt for tomorrow.

Remember when Kagawa got a hattrick in this fixture? Can someone step up and do something similar?

Probably not. 0-0 is my prediction.

Nailed on win for me, but then the real work starts with the Christmas games, don't want to sound a drama queen but reckon these next three games are huge for LvG.

There is no such thing as a nailed on win since Ferguson left. We no longer comply to that philosophy. I do feel a win coming if we can manage to field 90% of a first 11 and pass the ball forward for once.

    I predicted 0-0 though.

LvG really needs this win, if he doesn't then I don't see anything other than bad results coming in the Stoke and Chelsea games.

Personally I just feel a different approach coming for this game, and in turn a good result... 3-0

    Rooney
    Martial Herrera Mata
    Carrick Schneiderlin
    Blind Jones Smalling Varela
    DeGea

I'm 200 points behind in the line ups game so I'm not even bothered anymore. He can play Keith Lemon for all I care.

im a total pessimist but even i think we are good for three points in this one.
