That midfield against Newcastle’s XL bullies is… rough. Hand is pretty much forced but I don’t think I’d be going with that squad selectionCasemiro and Eriksen in a 2? Agreed. Probably the most physical midfield in the league vs. two greats way past their prime and a lethargic Zirkzee…Does Martinez only play because he’s left footed?I guess Rashford on the bench is his opportunity to say goodbye, if he does leave early in the January window.

Amorim made him captain tonight. Maybe he rates him.The pessimism from our own fans is just plain awful.
We have a great manager but not great players for the system he uses.
Its a bit like square pegs in rounds holes but one thing is for certain, this manager means business and will not only change the toxic player power nonsense that's been going on for years but also will be given the time to freshen up the squad with the right players going forward.

In a 4-3-3 he’s the perfect winger but the wing back role is something he cannot do at this stage.Zirkzee and Hojlund could be good with Amad. 3-2 Manchester United.Amorim really does speak well.Don’t like the starting lineup in truth. Yep, I've had gone for Cafu and Roberto Carlos myself.Ooof, looks like a collection of all of our slowest players, this could be even tougher than expected. Or, we could sit quite deep and frustrate, hopefully catching them on the break a few times.

It's disgraceful really. There is no threat going forward.Looking at the bench and squad, the centre midfield options are a real issue. Apart from Ugarte, there's no real mobility there. Casemiro has physicality, but he's slowing down so isn't that mobile. Mainoo's stamina is an issue and he doesn't have the physical presence that Ugarte or Casemiro have. Eriksen is in there purely for his passing range. There aren't many options there. It's another area we need to strengthen.
