    That midfield is awful. I don't mind the rest of the team though. I hope we win, the other teams remaining are weak with the two exceptions of Arsenal and Liverpool.
     
    No VAR I think as well so we will probably have a stone wall pen not awarded, and they get a offside one ..
     
    I like look of this midfield. Energy and some technical ability. Didnt think 12 months ago I would say I'm happy to see AWB back.
     
    Would have liked to see what Højlund could do if he had some service, but lovely changes otherwise.
     
    It`s the league cup, everyone plays their second string, nobody gives a proper shit about it, just a bonus if you manage to go through. So therefore we have a chance to grab a win here.

    Yeah, I saw the assists. Thought he might have at least come on for 15-20 minutes though in this game to ease him back into 1st team picture (and maybe win ETH back a bit more credit from fans at the same time) ; plenty of cases of young players coming off the bench for their 1st team on a Saturday then playing for reserves in the evening...

    His default mode is injured so not surprised. Really should get a starting CB and another good CB as backup in the summer.
     
    Happy with that lineup. Nice to see starts for Martial, Hannibal and Garnacho. Would have preferred Varane to Maguire but like everything else.
     
    Expect us to actually look like a team today without those two stinking up the place.

    He rotated most of the squad, that's a win in my books. On to Fulham.
     
    Cannot believe Anthony Martial is still representing Manchester United.
     
    I'm happy with that team. I want to see Mount and Hannibal run amok. Make it plain and obvious that we have other options there.
     
    Newcastle are playing like a 3rd string squad, will be embarrassing if we don’t win so I’m hoping for 2-0

    of course. Garnacho and Mount could have 10/10 performances tonight and they are going right back to the bench. At best he would start Mount in midfield with Bruno as 8's.
     
    Newcastle's B team. They are there for the taking. No excuses. I don't rate this competition, but we need the win.
     
    Newcastle have a strong bench, but imo that starting XI can be got at. Gordon and Joelinton are the dangers
     
    Howe also doing the smart thing by rotating, it's what big clubs should always do at this stage of the cup. If you get knocked out rotating who cares.
