Definitely can't win this 1-0. Has to be at least 2 goals at the minimum from us to beat them.

    Mourinho will make Pep cry.

Snow wont stop game from happening as under pitch heating system should be able to cope. Problem is if a significant number of fans cant make it because major local roads get snow blocked, which will almost certainly happen if snow is severe.

Doubt they will be happy to play in front of 20,000 fans.
So get the Mr. Plow truck out and start ploughing snow. If this match doesn't go ahead I'm blaming you. The Plow King truck is fine too.

Anyone who doesn't live in the UK probably won't understand but if there's a little bit of snow here things just cease to function.

Hopefully there won't be much snow at all.

Pogba, Martial, Rashford, Lukaku, Ibrahimovic. Let's not underestimate the firepower we have at our disposal too. City haven't looked the unbeatable machine they did a month or so ago, and as long as Mourinho sets up properly, there is a hell of a lot of space to expose behind that high press. Rashford and/or Martial is key to this. Get it right and they could have a field day.
Well..if you have been more careful would have known that Pogba and Ibra are unavailable for this match and in his current form Lukaku is as dangerous as you and me , despite we are not even from the squad

Feck postponing, we need to put pressure on them now or they could cruise along through December.
Especially when Kompany and Delph are now major doubts.
    Please God..

Agreed. If we rely that heavily on one player it really is a sorry state of affairs.

Agreed. It's important to stop their winning streak. And they won't be able to play their football in snowy conditions.

I hope the game goes through without getting postponed, on a frozen pitch with heavy snow falling and -10° temp. And just before the start of the game all those hand gloves city players wear gets mysteriously disappered.

Joses comments about city's diving is not about big calls like penalties. Like every guardiola team he feels his smaller talented players are entitled to go down easily all over the pitch when faced with physical players. It's a hugely effective way to keep possession, restart play with some space when pressed aggressively and disrupt the game plan of physical teams.

Naturally with players like Matic, Herrera, fellaini, lukaku, Valencia Jose will want an aggressive performance, this will be impossible if the ref is stopping the game and warning our players every time somebody looks at sterling funny. I think he's right to try leverage a bit of leniency, but don't think it will work with a truly awful referee

The met office is now saying 60% chance of snow from 5am till 7pm with 90% of heavy snow mid morning.
I think its all down to the emergency services now, I think the Police have the last say.
Still think its only 50/50 the game will go ahead.
Without Pogba it will be harder but we still need this game on.

Well no Ibra is available, but have a think about it. You were talking about having reserves if 1 or 2 players were ineffectual, I was simply pointing out we have depth in attacking positions too. And although Lukaku hasn't been scoring, he has still been playing well, contributing to the team.

It would be a disaster if this was postponed due to bad weather and rearranged for some point in at least 3 games time.

Apparently this game is not being shown live only in St. Kitts, Honduras, and North Korea, the world will not allow it to be cancelled. Expect God to step in with a warm front.

I really miss living in Manchester at times like this. Derby week is always a good crack with mates and colleagues leading up to the game. I don't miss all the shite spewed by journalists and broadcasters mind. I'll tune in for kick off (12.30am my time) and miss all the hyperbole.

I really hope the game goes ahead. We can't whine about Pogba. The players have to stand up and show some mettle. I feel confident of a win. People say the pressure is on us to close the gap, and it is, but there's plenty of pressure on the berties, such is the extent their football has been extolled.

I think we'll go the same as we did at Arsenal with Herrera for Pogba, which I don't necessarily disagree with but I think it might be wise to have 3 CMs in a 4-3-3 so we don't get completely overrun.

Anyway, hope we do the bastards so I can give my bluenose brother all manner of grief.

Phil Nevilie on Sky saying the Merseyside Derby is bigger than the Manchester one. feckING IDIOT !!

Not sure if he's totally wrong, in term of relevance to league, sure Manchester derby is bigger. But, if based on history, rivalry, etc. Merseyside is bigger I think. Even game between United and Liverpool would be considered as bigger if we put away the relevance of league.

Long story short: City are not a historically relevant side.

Please be a fecking blizzard tomorrow.

Postponed game with Pogba, Bailly and Jones all available would be mint.

Weird how snow can still affect a game of this size in 2017, and especially at a stadium like ours. Get the massive tarpaulin out and whack on the under soil heating for a few hours before kick off.

Could be a blessing if snow forced the game off. I would prefer us to have Pogba playing. I think we'd beat them with him in the team. Or am I being a wuss?
No it won't be, City currently are on a slight dip in form performance wise, this is a good time to play them. If we win there is a good chance they lose to Tottenham as well. Later on in the year the Derby might be meaningless. If we don't beat them they will remain unbeaten this season.

I think it is more to do with conditions outside Old Trafford.

Probably because City were missing from the top league for a while as well. The Merseyside Derby has always been there. Recently however the Manchester game is far more important regarding the league.

    wuss....

.....only joking, but its better the game gets played.

The game cant be replayed until january at the earliest and is more likely to be feb or march. By then city will have stones back and other signings from the january transfer window. If its even later then they might have mendy back as well. Add to that the unknown of who we would have available or not. Add in as well the ongoing momentum city have until they are beaten and we are the ones most likely to do that, so the sooner we play them the better.

A summary of the available dates in january/february and why they might not be available is below

9th or 10th jan is available but only if both us and city dont reach the semi of the carabao cup

16th or 17th jan is available if both us and city dont have an FA cup 3rd round replay

23rd or 24th jan is available but only if both us and city dont reach the semi of the carabao cup

27th or 28th january is available if both us and city get knocked out of the FA cup in third round.

6th or 7th feb available if both us and city dont have an FA cup fourth round replay

17th or 18th feb available if both us and city havent qualified for fifth round of FA cup.

The weather will not stop the match from happening.
This is not about 20,000 fans in the stadium. It's about TV networks who pay £billions.
If the stadium is empty, the match will still go ahead.
If the pitch is frozen solid, the match will still go ahead.

If I am wrong and the match gets postponed, then you can crucify me on Sunday. :nervous:

Phil Nevilie on Sky saying the Merseyside Derby is bigger than the Manchester one. feckING IDIOT !!

20 years ago, this may have been true.
But in 2017, tomorrow's game will probably attract the biggest WorldWide audience, of any EPL game, so far this season.
Last season I expected the Manchester Derby to be the biggest, but because both clubs were not in the top 2 positions, it turned out to be a damp squib.
This season however, this has been rectified: Jose and Pep are in the top 2 positions, so this year at least, this match is far bigger than the Merseyside derby.

I think P.Neville is still living in the past.

Just watching a Gary Neville interview with Pep and in all seriousness, I think he might be on the Autism spectrum. That's not a dig by the way, I seriously think he might be.

They will just broadcast the game another day.

It's not quite as simple as that because advertisers pay to put their adverts in and around a big sporting event, on a particular day.
Lets say I am planning to advertise Star Wars: The Last Jedi, in and around the advert breaks tomorrow. I am going to pay big money for these slots.
If the movie is released in December, I won't be paying to advertise my movie, in January or February. So, the broadcaster will lose that advertiser.
I can give you more examples, but postponements are VERY bad news for broadcasters.
The game will go ahead, unless the emergency services intervene (which is very very very rare).

    What makes you think that?

That's a fair reflection. I am being a wuss. It's just so important to win this game and yet the four inches of snow that's forecast my just leave the local council and police no choice but to cancel. I would prefer the gane to be played.
