Should have equalized at least, we ended the second half strongly. Let us hope those wasted chances won't be a big problem for us.

Miki off for Martial or Rashford, either way a change is needed.

City have been good but there are chances there, I think Rashford will cause chaos on the counter.

This game was crying out for Rashford and Martial runs in behind supplied by Pogba and Mata/Herrera. Instead we get 45 minutes of Lingard coming short on the wing and letting the ball squeeze under his feet. Mkhitaryan coming short and getting swamped by Nolito, Silva, Kolarov and Otamendi.

Rooney has been better than most, not sure why people want him off. We have been playing with 9 with miki and lingard on the pitch.

Thank goodness for Zlatan! This will make me sound like a loony, but the speed, strength and endurance of their players already really does make me wonder if they 'enhance' at all....

Get Mhiki off please. damn we could have equalized this after being outclassed.
I know I'm gutted maybe he should of started the other games because he looks off the pace but lingard and zlatan have likewise been shite!
Last 5 minutes showed the way forward can't believe we are losing 50-50 tackles

We're basically playing with 3 attackers who can't control the ball, it's ridiculous. Miki and Lingard have been especially shocking, put Martial and Rashford on and let's give them a game!

Mkhitaryan has looked awful, but he's looked a lot better than Lingard who has just been invisible.

He hasn't. They've both lost every tackle, and been dispossessed basically every time. Mhki is worse because he's lost it more. And has made a couple truly horrible passes.

Give som service to Zlatan ffs! Bring Martial and Rashford on. Both should have started.

Would really, really like to see Lingaard moved to the right, Martial on for Mkhi. Mkhi has struggled to insane degrees, he's really been detrimental to the side. Lingaard is out of position, move him to where he excels - on the right, where Mkhi is. Martial can be given the left side.

Lingard and Mkhitaryan need to be taken off at half time, but the disappointing thing our reactions are way too slow, which makes City's pressing very effective.

Hopefully we take something from the game after the break, but I'm not really optimistic.

I'd actually hook Rooney off and bring in Herrera in midfield. Then get Pogba on Fernandinho's case. He's running the game for them

Worst half I've seen from any player in a long time from Mkhitaryan. The occasion has gotten the better of him and he's not the only one. Need to bring Rashford on and tbh we need to toughen up in general, we are losing almost every 50/50 which considering how much bigger we are than them is embarrassing.

Should be 2-2 but nonetheless City look open at the back and that will give us belief. I fancy us to pull this back but we'll need to get so much better in the second half.

totally agreed. Both have been invisible and its a totally unacceptable performance from them. I'll forgive the attacking contribution, I've not noticed them in defence at all. Rubbish.
They're unable to control the ball and seem distinctly off pace. Can't afford that in a match where we're getting outplayed.

Jesus, Mikhi and Lingard were absolutely shocking this half. Worst individual performances I have seen in a long long time...

If we're going to cross it more then it's probably best if Jesus stays on.

We've been fecking shite and a lot of it has to do with Mou and his attitude to facing Pep's tactics. He's given City too much respect.

It felt like I watching Real vs Barca, which is ridiculous because City don't have an Iniesta, Xavi and Messi.

This City defence is shite, plenty of mistakes in them. We need to go at them, sitting back like this only works if the players on the wings are up to it and there's pace on the counter. We're not quick enough going forward to counter effectively. Doesn't help that a 2 man midfield with Rooney at 10 offers nothing. Pogba far too deep to have an influence and there's no outlet for him to utilise passes from deep.

Evident to even a layman that our tactics are tollway wrong. You can't sit back and hope to contain the possession based, fast incisive ball moving team that Guardiola has set up City to be today. They totally bossed it and we're jammy like make believe to be still in this game.

However, end of 2nd half showed the chink in their armour, which is physical strength in their penalty box exploited through some sustained aerial play.

Id get on Rashford and Martial and also play Fellaini at No 10. Drop Rooney next to Pogba and bombard the city penalty box with long balls and aerial crosses.

With the correct tweaks, we can win that game.

Rooney has been better than most, not sure why people want him off. We have been playing with 9 with miki and lingard on the pitch.

We need to shore up the middle so it's a clean choice between rooney or pogba and for me Pogba is showing more and has that pace that we need, we shouldn't make him stay deeper. Could move rooney wide but why do that when we have rashford/martial on the bench.

I think we need to bring in Schneiderlin in midfield, push Pogba up the pitch and put Rooney wide right in place of Lingard/Mhki; see how it goes with that set up for ten to fifteen minutes before bringing in Rashford.

    We really need Rashford.

Potentially a change of shape with 3 midfielders.

There's no reason to do it. We have Ibra up top, and Fellaini in midfield. City have 2 more players up the pitch than typical teams, to close that down. Just hit up to the big men and look for drop downs, bypassing the City players.

This, they have a big space to exploit on their wings especially so we need to use that.
