De gea kicking out of bounds is getting annoying
I’m not surprised he’s not going down the middle to VVD, and I guess he’s been told to target TAA’s side, but a mixture of where he’s putting it and maybe misjudgment by the jumper isn’t helping

Ronaldo hsa started hos last game for us I reckon.

We are always going to cling on for dear life at some point in the game against the dippers.

    They're a top top team.

So nothing that we havent expected.

If we could manage a good 20 minutes in the second half, and score, that would maybe be enough for the win.

    They deserve the credit!
    War it is!

Bruno was Liverpool's biggest goalscoring threat that half. What is wrong with him... he does some insanely stupid things that we don't talk enough about

Watching Richard Keys and Andy Gray finding faults in that brilliant performance and seeing Nigel De Jong supporting United! Half the analysis is gone discussing varane foul on Milner for a supposed penalty

Bit worried we let them back in the game, and the passivity in defence with no one troubling the ball carrier is exasperating, and will cost us.

Milner on the floor, Trent not knowing where he is and Vvd bewildered!

Need to be getting the Jamie Vardy refuelling packs out at half time with the levels of energy they put into that first half.
Great first 20, then spells of having to really dig in.

Has this game got a Rashy breakaway goal in it? Really hope so. We'll need a 2nd.

Am I the only one who thinks we can do better? Seriously smash these scouse cnuts they were rattling and we let them back at the end of the half

Rashford is walking not pressing ffs! Front 3 have to do better and stop with the silly flicks - just go direct, playing right into Liverpool's hands.

In hindsight Liverpool should have agreed to Sadio Mane wage demands.
Mane was the player that scored the goal against the run of play and worked his socks off. I think they made a mistake not keeping him instead of Salah if they had to choose.

Happy with the performance. We do need a outball from defence though. Same issue as usual, Bruno trying to boot the ball every where without considering if we have enough attackers forward. He’s a huge problem if he continues to lose possession every week.

Yep. If we had better quality than those 2 up front we would have caused Liverpool more damage and control the game a bit more since they can't keep the ball.
Yeah I'd like to see Rashford keep it up there. That or try a quick one two to get in behind

Rashford HAS to press more, he's walking around most of the time, again. No different than Ronaldo. He has to put more pressure on their defenders when they pass the ball around.
Agree. He's been rather lazy off the ball, letting players just past him into our own half without pressing them.

I think Eriksen is gassing a bit and we need energy to keep up the pace. Won't be surprised to see Fred.
Weirdly enough I think the player who will cause all sorts of havoc to this Liverpool defence up front is Garnacho

Fred is a cert to come on but is it mct or eriksen that comes off?

Maybe Bruno, go to a more orthodox 3. McT has done really well with his positioning, often in the past he tries to press and takes himself out of the game, opening passing lines, much better tonight, more controlled, forcing them wide or into the aggression of Martinez.

Martial for Rashford to hold the ball up might be the move if Liverpool continue to control possession.

Whatever happens second half, I feel like that half was something to build on. Tactically and technically a bit up and down, but the commitment and effort was 10x better than we’ve seen in a long time. Would mean a lot to get the win of course, but in terms of climbing out of this rut, it’s a solid start.
Spot on. Yes we made 4 changes but the bolder part is the biggest difference for me.

Superb first 25 mins. We should have at least been 2-0 up in that period of Elanga took his chance. Sancho’s goal was a thing of real beauty not just from Jadon himself but the whole build-up. Liverpool then began to come into the game but I didn’t feel anyway threatened when they did. Defence are having a having a fine game.

If we can repeat the performance of that opening half an hour and grab a 2nd then what a confidence booster that will give everyone.
Pity Elanga didn’t score … Rashford almost got by VVD — would have been great for him

Fernandes has not been awful. He's made some errors but he's put himself about. When tines are hard you need to go back to basics and united have done that. Hopefully they can get a result.
nearly cost us 2 goals but sure a little bit of effort is the bare minimum

Great first 25 mins before Liverpool got into it. That’s how to should be though between ‘top’ sides. A bit of ebb and flow. The fact we are competing again with Liverpool is a huge step forward from the last few weeks and last season.

Need to get back on the ball a bit 2nd half and while we have a couple of yellow cards they also have TAA carded. Need to get Elanga and Rashford running behind him again.

Yes, and McTominay deserves credit as well. He's been excellent. Elanga lively.
Love how Elanga plays with no fear, takes on 1v1 and great energy. Probably the fittest player too. McT needs credit aswell.

We can’t keep this intensity up much longer and will either need to sub players in, or play a much more considered possession game.

Big calls for ten Hag to make.

Other than the mazy run towards his own goal, Bruno has looked better. He's very good when he stops taking touches and just keeps the ball moving, keep it simple. Good determination to close down the space and the opposition. Really good for the Elanga chance. But then he overplays and stuff like that run and turnover 25 yards from his own goal happen.

Dalot has done well against Diaz too.

Rashford has more highlights letting people waltz past with no resistance than positive contributions. Nothing is coming off
