    Martinez was Player of the season for a reason. I am happy we have him over Timber.

    Someone slated me earlier in the week for suggesting Malacia and Martinez should both start vs Liverpool. They were both immense.

    Sweet to see the tables turned on Carra. Nev and Keano having a field day.

    Excuse me? Just how low is the bar? The antics were on another level not the performance. He lost his head, almost got an OG on a routine clearance, timewasting on a yellowcard, diving, handed the ball back to pool at the end so unnecessarily. Effort was there but almost got cancelled out by loss of discipline and composure several times
    Zero of a post. Bruno was excellent- great captain - gave his all; skill and imagination and guts

    If City had won yesterday - Liverpool could really have been in trouble in the title race. If I was a Liverpool-fan I would not have liked to be 7 points behind City

    Quite like Fred as an impact sub...
    Liverpool look awful. No creativity in that midfield. Milner, Elliott, Henderson with Firminho ahead of them isn't going to scare many. Diaz and Salah were isolated all game because of it.

    Nice checklist of cliches and empty platitudes that don't actually mean anything. To top it all off calling that a captain's display. Maybe even one of the lowest disciplined games he has played. Below average in quality and poise but high in effort is the biggest compliment one can give it.

    What was great about tonight was the result and the moments. The actual performances weren't actually anything to lose one's head over.

    Ten Hag had players out there tonight ready to implement his plan. That plan was tailored to Pool, to DDG’s abilities (no playing out from the back). Malscia and Varane were great, but what about McT! Dalot. All did great, All showed smarts; all ran their socks off.

    @Tincanalley
    McTominay was alright bar some bad touches (with happen every game) but logically with Casemiro's arrival we have seen the last of him.

    Liverpool gives us lots of space, smaller teams won't give us that space, we will see how the players can adapt their game. Today in hindsight all the stars were aligned.

    This game showcased the abilities and potential this team has. I have been saying, like many, that Maguire and Ronaldo do not fit into this team and we are better off without them. If we can bring de Jong in, in addition to Antony and other potential signings, then we could really get back to winning trophies.

    Crazy that Liverpool had the second highest possession and the most touches in our box for an away team at Old Trafford since records began. The game didn’t feel like that at all.

    This is something I think is almost forgotten by "top" managers these days. It's reassuring to me that he can amend his system to fit our players when other top managers basically refuse to do that and demands the players fit their system.

    It's funny, really, reading this thread from the start. Every one of these players - every one - was mugged off at one stage by someone on here. There are also many posters who kept saying ( and I have no false pride in saying I'm one) who have always said that is almost all down to confidence and direction. All of these players are playing EPL football, something all of us have no experience of. They aren't useless. They might have bad periods, low mentality, but there is a footballer there somewhere. It just needs unlocking. Obviously some of them are not going to be great next game. Some of them might be even better. Just go with the flow, Joe. The biggest thing for me last night was the desire and effort. That, allied to skill, will help us rise up the table. Top four? Who knows? But , just like my lawn, there are green shoots after the drought.

    Dunno what happened during the week at Carrington but ETH has earned his salary. Martinez was epic. Felt sorry for ETH trying to understand Keano, Carragher and Neville. Simon Jordan is a Cnut , he’s running the team down. According to him, Liverpool were bad and we were lucky.

    why getting all pissed off??? the fuking ref will just add on the time at the end
