He is continually playing there and we have no say in the team. In what situation does LVG ever play rooney as a striker again when we have seen Di Maria will go into a forward position over rooney.

No amount of talking is going to change anything. we have to move on.

It's not going to change anything but we're more than welcome to comment on its madness. One of the world's greatest strikers is being ruined infront of our eyes.

I personally think it's a fantastic line up. Surprised everyone is having a moan. I have longed for us to play a 442 with januzaj and di maria. Rooney has been great in midfield and should be considered a midfielder these days. It's a home game against liecester. Let's not be so dramatic.

    I'm sorry, but no.

I think we're going to win this, but i don't see the need for rooney, van persie and falcao to play at the same time.

Does the Caf prefer a diamond to 4231? Also, I think it's down mostly to not having more than one midfielder and accommodating 3 strikers. But of course, we shall see.

Rooney has been playing as a midfielder for weeks. This is nothing new.

Such an unbalanced side is asking for a tonking! I am kinda getting worried about LvG and his philosophy shite! We will make Leicester look like Barcelona.

@Ole's_toe_poke No it isn't. But we've almost got a full squad to select from. Is he really better in midfield than Herrera? Will he be disciplined enough to keep our shape? ...

I would worry being the wideman having to link up with Valencia.

Not if it's Angel di Maria as a RM or RCM, Valencia will look to pass him the ball at every possible opportunity and when he has no where to go he knows he can pass to valencia, find space and get the ball back.

And if it's Rooney as a RCM, he will still need to drift wide, he loves passing the ball to Valencia so he'll do exactly that. Valencia will be more worried about linking up with rooney, he'll be hoping Phil Jones can find some space back in our half.

    Coldplay.....things i don't understand...dum..da..da

It says I got 0 right in the prediction when I got 9 right

    Good enough for the day.

What I don't get is what the hell LvG thinks balance actually means as his lineups have anything but balance.

442, Rooney in midfield. Fergie, is that you?

I am strangely excited for this game. Maybe it's feelings of revenge but I have a feeling we might get to see some good soccer today. (Hopefully from our team)

    Balance means no Herrera.?

Are people going to say "Rooney in midfield again" as if he hasn't done it for years now.

    Same here.

Honestly if we can't beat the team at the bottom of the league at Old Trafford then we might as well give up!

Apart from Rooney in CM [something i hate] - how is this line up not balanced? It's like most of you just moan for the sake of it.

Want to hear our fans screaming Herrera's name. He seems such a nice fellow and is being unfairly bullied by this crazy dutchman.

Just because the book has an unbalanced cover does not mean the book will be unbalanced.

Couldn't give a shite about the lineup, we had a bunch of posts lauding it prior to the Cambridge game and the performance was still utter garbage. It means absolutely nothing if the players are going to choose the easy/lazy option all afternoon like they have recently.

Anyone else think this match is this season's fulham game potentially?

You know...the straw that broke the camel's back for Moyes.

    De Gea
    Valencia, Jones, Rojo, Shaw
    Blind
    Januzaj, Rooney, Di Maria
    RvP, Falcao

I can get behind this lineup. Very frail at the back, but we should be storming these. Get an 8-0 done, relegate them today, crush their mentality.
