At home vs a Leicester team that hasn't impressed so far, I think it's OK to have an attacking lineup like this.

In tougher games we'll have a holding midfielder with Pogba playing ACM.

Have to agree with this. It's a little less pragmatic than I'd expect of Mourinho. A lot depends on Bailly and Smalling winning the duel against Slimani and Vardy. I would hope that Blind would have played in midfield had Shaw been fit.
And Bailly still has to learn how to jump at headers!

I see folks are still trying to equate Carrick performances against lower-tier teams to his performances against any decent side that presses him.

    Carrick would be destroyed today.

Who are the players Neville say "in the last three years that the club never should have allowed to have been signed"? I think Falcao, Fellaini, Bastian, ADM, Rojo.

Exacty. The game would just pass Carrick by. Good that he is not starting.

    I hate that team...

    So bad...

    Where's Rooney???

    We're going to lose

Everyone hide your feelings that you love the team otherwise we will lose

Can't believe Rooney on the bench. Never mind - the lads better win! Don't mess up you bastards!

People moaning about Lingard are mental. He works ridiculously hard in the middle and final thirds, scores important goals, and Mkhitarian, Martial are both injured.

Is Blind holding midfield? (oh wait he's in for Shaw ). Interested in this game. Don't see the fatboy back in the team for a while.

But 433 is no more defensive than 4231,we just play with two midfielders who can travel up the pitch and join the attack. In two man midfield they will rarely do that.

433 is more defensive as whichever way you play it there is one less forward in the team, how you approach the game can obviously completely change that, but on paper 4 2 3 1 is the more attacking formation but it requires dominance to pull off.

Did you watch the city game? I see why people are concerned

Possibly the weakest bench i can remember for a league game. No pace, creativity, control or excitement. Let's hope we aren't chasing the game in the 70th minute.
That's a big worry. Apparently, the only disruptive solution would be to drop bombs to Fellaini.

Rooney is not starting! Jose's taken a call that everyone want him to take.. Mata at no 10. with Hererra in the team ahead of Fellaini.

Hope the team puts in a performance now.

I'm pretty sure Rooney got dropped last season too. Came back in to the team and started bagging for fun for a couple of months, fingers crossed for that.

Great to see Rojo and Rooney dropped.

Blind and Mata replace them. Was doubtful Carrick would play after 90 minutes and think Mourinho wants energy and physicality to combat Leicester in the middle.

Imagine what Mourinho thinks of Memphis if he doesn't even make the bench today!

I like the lineup. It's an attacking midfield and we could be a bit open at times but I'm happy with it, so much creativity with real pace on the wings is never a bad combination. Delighted to see Rashford and Herrera, Lingard has a lot to prove after his Derby performance but I think he'll be much better this time round. Also fancy Blind to keep Mahrez quiet.
