I'd rather have seen Mata on the right and someone defensive behind Herrera and Pogba but Rooney got dropped so can't complain much.

We better get a result or he'll be back next game. Big match this.

Leicester sit deep and counter, no need to play three in midfield against a team like that. I think 4 3 3 is our best formation on paper, but not against Leicester, waste of a body.

I don't really like that team. Carrick for Mata would've been excellent, but I'd imagine he's still tired from the Northampton game. Very little balance as many have already pointed out, I don't think it suits Pogba.

One of the big reasons to drop Rooney should be to correct the balance of the team. I don't think we've done that.

Be interesting to see the shape of this team. Not convinced it will be a 4-2-3-1 or even that Blind will necessarily be at LB. Disappointed at no Henrikh.

Or it could be Mata on the right, with Lingard behind Ibra. We need running in behind from the 10 position, as Ibra likes to drop off, and that's what Jese gives you.

There isn't much of an "in behind" with Leicester. This will be a lot of the game sat in their half, looking for a chance to get to the byline and get it across or shooting from around the area. If we score it will be from a cut-back near the touch line, a cross to Zlatan or Pogboom creating enough space to snap a long shot in.

I wanted Rooney to be dropped, but I'm not sure I wanted him to be dropped in favour of a seemingly poorer system. Mata at #10 is great, but then Pogba and Herrera behind him, seriously? We really need Herrera to have a blinder here and Pogba will need to play very well in a position which isn't his best.

Decent team but a bit worried about the defence as it looks like we are gonna play 4-0-7. Anyway, chance for Mata to show what he can do at #10 and hopefully Lingard will have a good game.

But 433 is no more defensive than 4231,we just play with two midfielders who can travel up the pitch and join the attack. In two man midfield they will rarely do that.

Have to agree with this. It's a little less pragmatic than I'd expect of Mourinho. A lot depends on Bailly and Smalling winning the duel against Slimani and Vardy. I would hope that Blind would have played in midfield had Shaw been fit.
