Don't think he had many options tbh. Carrick's fitness must've been low after the last match and I'm guessing he wanted to avoid having to play Rojo, so Blind was needed at LB. Nobody else would be able to play at the base of the midfield properly imo (apart from Bastian).

Blind at left back is good his crosses are deadly.Can't complain with that team. It looks a lot more creative than recent line ups. Bring Martial back in for Lingard over the next couple of weeks and it will look even better.

The question is: has he been dropped for poor form OR has he been dropped because he is still tired from playing 3 days ago?
If it's the latter, he will certainly be straight back in the team in our next game.Absolutely chuffed to see that Rooney is dropped but why has Mourinho again gone for his 4-2-3-1 obsession. We clearly need a 3 man midfield with someone like Carrick sitting behind Pogba and Herrera. Mourinho doesn't seem to get it?
