Honestly kind of hope we play terribly just to prove to Mourinho it’s him who needs to change.

Mou will take a beating if this doesn’t go well picking that starting 11. Excited to see what McTominay can do today

It seems that he takes a beating no matter what he does, good or bad.

Thanks Jose, the Tottenham performance (worse since Barcelona vs United CL finals) deserved a kicking to the players. Sad!!!!!

Yes, you do sometimes, of course. Still think it's bit of Jose making sure he's the boss (nothing wrong with that), rather than for the benefit of a cohesive team.
And if pogba hasn't been working hard enough or not listening to instructions, thinking he's bigger then the manager or whatever, then Mourinho should drop him. Whatever happened against spurs, Mourinho wouldn't sub out pogba unless he wasn't listening or working hard enough, and keeping your spot despite that sends out a bad message to the team.

Thought he would go with more experience in the midfield and attack and he almost did that, McTominay is a huge surprise.

It looks a better balanced team than Wednesday.

Unfortunately another sign that we've bought Sanchez to play on the left.

    WTF with this line up.
I almost never criticise Jose but droping Martial and still not starting Rashford is as dumb a decision you could make. Unless he plans on getting read of 1 of them, which in this occasion, I'd rather he would be the one to go.

Honestly kind of hope we play terribly just to prove to Mourinho it’s him who needs to change.

You actually hope that we play badly??

    Really??

    That is just idiotic talk.

Not sure what to think of the lineup. I’m never against a bit of carrot and stick, but I do think one bad game is a bit soon to do it.

I think it’s harsh on Herrera to be behind McTominay.

He's not even on the bench. Probably injured.

Pretty disgraceful team selection in truth.

Best outfield players this season dropped. In come players who've done absolutely nothing to deserve a starting place.

What must Herrera and Rashford be thinking too that when he makes big changes they don't get a look in.

There could be a reasonable explanation why Herrera and Jones aren't involved
Ander Herrera’s absence may also be owed to injury. Phil Jones as well, maybe. Neither were at The Lowry last night and it would be somewhat excessive to omit them from the 18.

Luke Shaw and Juan Mata are arguably deserving of recalls. With Anthony Martial, Mourinho is partly to blame for the ridiculous decision to start him on the right at Wembley.

I'm looking forward to see how the team plays without Pogba. To be honest, after his shit show against Spurs he deserves the dropping. The entire team was bad but Pogba was lazy, indisciplined and kept losing possession. A good kick up his arse.

It's not like Poga has had 2-3 games playing badly, it was just once with a formation that didn't suit him.

He really doesn't need a good kick up the arse, we use to that way too quickly

So much negativity around here, it is quite unbelievable really.

Honestly kind of hope we play terribly just to prove to Mourinho it’s him who needs to change.

Disgraceful comment. What a "fan" you are.

Its an easy home game. This is the sort of game where fringe players get a chance.

There is no need to read too much into the changes. I'd rather see McTominay get starts in these games than the knockout games as that is all we have to play for this season.

And about Martial. He has been rotated pretty often this season. This is just another game.

Yeah but Martial's been our best attacking player for the majority of the season at LW and immediately gets thrown out of his position when Sanchez arrives, doesn't send a particularly promising message to him. I don't mind him being dropped if there's an actual way back to the first team.
The Caf was happy enough when we signed Alexis, what were y’all expecting - our £500k a week new signing to work his way into the team. Lol get real.

Think he would have dropped Matic as well if Fellaini and Herrera weren't out.

You hope we play terrible? That's really great. How about hoping we play really good

I’m just so annoyed about dropping Pogba and Martial. Achieves absolutely nothing but pissing them off, old school management doesn’t work anymore.

That will teach Martial for not being good on the right wing and Pogba for being unable to play in a midfield 2 against good sides.

Looks like Sanchez on the left again as well... what has happened to all those posters who said he would be playing on the right.

If Pogba is that good, he should be able to play in any midfield formation - all great midfield players do. Everybody else - but the keeper - have to accept playing "out of position" from time to time and very good players are able to adapt and cope.

Awful looking line up but after the Spurs game he needed to make changes it was a complete joke of a performance.

Ballsy XI that but Paul Pogba is not going to be the star this club needs unless he reacts in the right way.

Alexis playing on the left disappoints me. He strengthens us far less there than what he could do on the right. We’ve still got little threat on the right and more depth and little more peak quality on the left.

I’m just so annoyed about dropping Pogba and Martial. Achieves absolutely nothing but pissing them off, old school management doesn’t work anymore.
How do you know if it pisses them of. Sometimes players are dropped. It's nothing extraordinary.

Not sure what to think of the lineup. I’m never against a bit of carrot and stick, but I do think one bad game is a bit soon to do it.

I think it’s harsh on Herrera to be behind McTominay.
Forgot Herrera wasn't injured, that's very harsh

I am starting to hate 4231.

It's poor management to use players out of position or where they're not comfortable and then drop them when they don't play well.

Smalling, Lingard, Lukaku, Matic, Pogba, Jones and Young are the ones which let the team down on Wednesday but only the last three mentioned above are the ones that get dropped (Although Jones is ill apparently). Had he dropped the first four above, that would have been a better message to the team.
