If you had read any of my previous posts you'll know "negative" is the most ridiculous thing to call me with.

We had always played very poorly against whatever opponent this season whenever Pogba wasn't in the team.

If you don't like being called negative, then don't post things which go way too far that way.

This match will not be a draw, and nothing about that side selected says "draw".

Pogba being dropped is certainly a big call, but the glaring issue for me again is this bloody 4231. He does insist on playing it, doesn't he.

Should be enough to beat these though. Come on lads!

Man, Rashford is thoroughly out of favour right now.

The best player in our squad at LW is clearly Alexis, nothing wrong with Martial being dropped.

Dropping Pogba, something I will never agree with. I’d sooner see Mourinho evicted from the Lowry and dumped on the first train to Euston than upset our Poggers.

Some of these guys need a good kick up the butt after Wednesday so good to see Jose not afraid to bench/drop them.
Agreed. Every last one of them deserved to be dropped to be honest.

Pogba has 1 bad game = dropped.
Matic stinks up the place for 4/5 games and stays in the team. Very nice logic Jose.
it's a terrible line up but we've had times in the past where there are terrible lineups and it actually turns out OK.

I'm looking forward to see how the team plays without Pogba. To be honest, after his shit show against Spurs he deserves the dropping. The entire team was bad but Pogba was lazy, indisciplined and kept losing possession. A good kick up his arse.

Seems odd that Matic and Lingard survived the cull when both were pretty dreadful. Certainly both are less deserving of a start than Martial and Pogba.
They aren't our heavy hitters though, they aren't supposed to carry us when the going gets tough, Martial and Pogba were. Easy to see why they were dropped over lesser players (no disrespect to them).

He was actually much, much worst on the left side in the second half. Do people even watch the matches before sprouting bullshit?

He has never had a good game for United on the right wing. He has had many good games for United on the left.

Moving our most in form attacker to a position which he has never played well in was a silly move that predictably failed and now Martial is being punished for his managers mistake.

Love Pogba but even his appearance against Stoke was very lazy. They kept on finding space behind our midfield and kept on creating chances. Definetely merited a dropping. Martial not so much but his second half performance was pathetic.

That will teach Martial for not being good on the right wing and Pogba for being unable to play in a midfield 2 against good sides.

Looks like Sanchez on the left again as well... what has happened to all those posters who said he would be playing on the right.

Exactly. Everyone and their dog has figured out that Pogba can't function in a midfield two against good teams, he can hardly do it against mediocre sides.

Likewise Martial was played out of position, and benched when he failed to produce in the faulty position Jose put him in.

Not happy with how he has handled this.

This isn't negative. We had never played well at all without Pogba this season.

Definitely hope you're right. I don't understand what you want.

Martials been rotated often this season. He's more starter then sub, but still. Not a huge shock considering options we have. Jones/young, I'd rather Shaw plays while Jones had a horror show so naturally rotate that a bit. Pogba is the one big call, but sometimes you have to make those calls.

Yes, you do sometimes, of course. Still think it's bit of Jose making sure he's the boss (nothing wrong with that), rather than for the benefit of a cohesive team.

wtf, it is not like Mata or Matic or Lukaku were any better.. and Smalling. We are dropping two of our best players.. they had one bad. The two players other than Sanchez who have that moment of flair or magic in them. :(

Childish from Mourinho, try actually playing players to their strengths instead of asking them to do things they aren't suited to. McTominay over Herrera with the latter not even in the squad is just ridiculous.

Beginning to wish we hadn't bought Sanchez now. We were going along quite nicely before Jose started to look at ways of accommodating him.
It's crazy, sacrificing all our balance for a player who can play well all 4 attacking positions!

He was actually much, much worst on the left side in the second half. Do people even watch the matches before sprouting bullshit?
How can I watch the match if I;m too busy moaning in the match thread?

Mou will take a beating if this doesn’t go well picking that starting 11. Excited to see what McTominay can do today

Don't have a problem with Shaw at all. I've been pleased so far with Jose's inclusion of younger players, but aside from starting McTominay, getting rid of Martial, Rashford and Pogba I think is too much. Hope it doesn't backfire.
Ah didn't see the 'keep benched' part regarding Rashford.

Are you for real? He was playing at left wing in the second half. Mourinho played him at his favored position and his performance level dropped.

Not sure what to think of the lineup. I’m never against a bit of carrot and stick, but I do think one bad game is a bit soon to do it.

I think it’s harsh on Herrera to be behind McTominay.

The best player in our squad at LW is clearly Alexis, nothing wrong with Martial being dropped.
Yeah but Martial's been our best attacking player for the majority of the season at LW and immediately gets thrown out of his position when Sanchez arrives, doesn't send a particularly promising message to him. I don't mind him being dropped if there's an actual way back to the first team.

    Mourinho doing a ... Mourinho

We get it Mourinho you're the one in charge, let's hope it doesn't backfire eh?

Mata was absolutely woeful last time he started in the league. Didn't add anything to the Spurs game when he came on either. Martial had been in goalscoring form leading up to the Spurs game.
The little it takes for Martial to miss out, for players like Rashford or Mata who haven't stepped up for months is not good.

Smalling was targeted as a weakness by Spurs, by marking every player when he was on the ball daring him to pass it well. He didn't respond, consistantly passing it back without offering himself for a return pass, out of play or to another defender under pressure, yet he sees no consequence.

Pogba was unbeaten in the league for 36 appearances, this game was perfect to see him forge a relationship with Sanchez. There aren't midfielders good enough to replace him so I can't see this working out.
