Whatever the line up, whatever the result tomorrow, only thing am hoping is that we don't half ass it in the first game. Anyone that doesn't show effort, hook them even if it's in the first half - set the tone that there will be no passengers when it comes to effort this season.

The goals conceded was striking. Truly awful set piece defending for the first (Andreas Georgson will surely bring a much needed improvement in that area) then the 2nd goal conceded deep into added time when United was caught on the break when looking to score the winner themselves. The effort by Maguire,Lindelof prevent that goal was woeful. (With the new defensive signings the less seen of those two in action the better)Hope to see

Evans gives way for Mazraoui if he has impressed in training.

We started great in 21-22 season only for Ronaldo to come ruin it all.
Then the great first two games of ETH's reign where we were made to look like puppets and last season scraping part Wolves and then losing.
Just need to keep pace with Arsenal, City and Liverpool and not be too behind when December comes. Then top 3 or to 4 is achievable.

Defence is more interesting and pivots around maguire really - if he's seen as a genuine member of the squad this year I think he'll start given his fitness level should probably be the highest of the CBs. If he's dropped that's a pretty strong signal and we could well get some late transfer movement with him

I suspect Mazraoui will start given our lack of fit options at in the full back positions. I suspect he won't start but I hope Mount gets a decent amount of minutes and he finally start to kick on.The signings and performance against city have left me a tad optimistic. I just don't want tonight to kill that optimism.I'm really looking forward to this game. Some of our football against City was beautiful to watch. Lets hope it carries on v Fulham!
