I’d be surprised if we started De Ligt who hasn’t had much of a preseason and at CB where we have options, and didn’t start Mazraoui who had a full preseason and can play left back, where we have no options.

Think ten Hag will be keen to get di Ligt up to speed as quickly as possible and Fulham at home is a great opportunity to do that.

Absolutely buzzing for tomorrow night. All the stupid thoughts going through your head. De Ligt smashing a 97th minute winner in at the Kop End................................Amad and Mazroui absolutely shredding that Right side to bits............................Mainoo taking the p**s out of Grealish AND Foden

    UTFR !!!

Just win. Don't think it'll be easy vs Fulham and never was over last few years, even when we beat them.

    Onana
    Mazraoui Maguire Martinez Dalot
    Casemiro
    Mainoo Mount
    Garnacho Bruno Rashford

Bring on McTominay/Eriksen, Amad, Zirkzee, Sancho/Antony and de Ligt at some point in 2nd half.

Whatever the result think the game tomorrow night will show us again that we need that defensive midfielder and it'll put more pressure on getting Ugarte deal done. Same for LB position with both Mazraoui and Dalot actually being RB and Shaw/Malacia injured.

Have to get the result before bigger challenges at Brighton and vs Liverpool.

    Am I misreading this?

Do you think we’re playing against city at Anfield tomorrow night?

Of all Ineos' shake ups, the one I want to see most is the person who posts the lineup in squad number order, the fecking degenerate.

    We want our club back.
Yes, yes and yes. Like seriously, can we start a petition for this

    Onana
    Maz-Maguire-Martinez-Dalot
    Casemiro-Mainoo
    Amad-mount-Bruno Rashford

Think we’ll go with the same shape as against City but with I would imagine minutes being given to Garnacho, Zirkzee Antony and probably DeLigt

I don't think de Ligt or Mazraoui will be straight in. Maybe they'll both get on in the second half if we've managed to put the match out of hand.

If we can't beat this lot at home with a rag-tag eleven, we are just a pile of pudding.

Fulham is not a bad team, they werent last season and have strengthened themselves more. With Maguire and Evans as CB-duo, we should expect to lose every match in the PL.

Have they strengthened? Lost Tosin and Palhinha arguably their 2 best players. Smith-Rowe a decent buy, but he's not been great for a good while and doesn't add any defensive steel lost from Palhinha. Admittedly we might not have improved our starting 11 for tomorrow either if De Ligt or Mazraoui don't start as I'd expect Zirkzee on the bench and Yoro obviously injured.

    Just done

    • Mazroui and de Ligt not expected to feature
    • Doesn't think last season was that bad
    • Midfield of Mount, Fernandes and Zirkzee can work
    • Antony central to his plans
    • Heh
    • De Jong still wanted
    • Amad will need to earn his place
The "heh" tickled the shit outta me

We deserve what we get if we genuinely go in with a Evans, Maguire defensive partnership. It needs to be Dalot, Martinez, Maguire, Mazraoui. The other option I'd be ok with would be Martinez, Maguire, De Ligt, Dalot but that seems unlikely given no pre-season for De Ligt.

Looking at Fulham's squad it will be very disheartening if we don't win.

I feel last season broke me, I genuinely can't picture us winning the game :nervous:

Yeah same. On the one hand I'm really optimistic given how INEOS ran the summer. But there were so many times when the rubber met the road we came up short. I wouldn't be surprised about any of these things:

    1. Game starts, Fulham press really well and with intensity. Marco Silva is a good coach. We turn the ball over because we can't build up. We're out numbered and scrambling back. Fulham pull off a quick passing sequence + a long shot. Onana makes a meal of it and it's 0-1.

    2. We start reasonably ok and go 1-0 up. We start sitting back and waiting for the counter and invite pressure in a mid block. Couple of corners later and Fulham score to make it 1-1.

    3. Fulham sit in a low block and we keep passing it around side to side. Eventually Rashford takes a lose touch and gives the ball away. Results in a Fulham counter and 0-1.

Can’t wait to see Antony in the starting lineup. The fallout on here will be biblical.

It feels crazy that the season is already starting tomorrow. I used to get annoyed by the "too much football.. these poor lads need rest" comments from managers.

I now think they are right, I reckon the start of the season will be rubbish quality of football. It's felt relentless since COVID.

Marco Silva schooled Ten Hag in this fixture last season, even without Palhinha in that Fulham team. Hopefully, it goes better this time, but they always seem to score at Old Trafford.

Didn't realise they had Adama Traore - could be interesting depending on which one turns up

How long before we lose our first player to injury? I honestly see it as a result if we finish games and nobody has picked up knocks and substantial injuries. If we are to compete in the cups again and a comfortable top 4, the constant medical/fitness issues need to be a thing of the past.

Schooled him? I remember a fairly tedious game with Utd battering Fulham last 20, equalizing then ballsing it up going for the winner in classic Utd last season fashion.

ETH says UTD aren't ready but ready or not I'm still not expecting anything other than a UTD win.

Even at home I feel we just seem too disjointed with injuries and new players not available.

Both strikes out so Rashford gets shunted up there or Bruno plays false 9, both are underwhelming options.

    Midfield is still barren.

The defence is riddled with injuries and new players who won't play.

Some Garnacho/Bruno individual brilliance may squeak a win for us.
