I'm currently in Doha so will be watching this approx 11pm...better be worth staying up for.

If we nick a 1-0 win without any injuries, I'll take it.

Are we ready for the start of the season? I really still don't think so but excited nonetheless and let's be honest we should still have vastly more than enough for Fulham at Old Trafford.

    Onana
Dalot - De Ligt - Martinez - Mazraoui
    Mainoo - Casemiro - Mount
    Amad - Bruno - Rashford

Garnacho 2nd half winner off the bench. 2-1

Did not think this but i am absolutely buzzing for this game. Where did this excitement come from?

why is everyone assuming Amad starts, when ETH has show no inclination to prefer him over Garnacho / rashford.

Rashford and Mount will score tonight. I saw it. I was there. I saw it all. Then Ugarte reached up with his dead hand and signed in his own blood.

Maybe both start with Rashford at top. Think he’ll bring Zirkzee on second half. Unless he’s brave enough to start Zirkzee from the off then it will be Rashford left with amad or Garnacho.

Gonna be interesting to see the line up tonight. We’ve got many options now. Don’t see how Mount can start if we stick with Mainoo and Casemiro with Bruno in front unless he uses Bruno as a false 9 again.

Hoping he will reward Amad for being our best player on preseason and best attacker in the first half vs City, I guess.
My guess is that Rashford will actually start at CF, meaning both Garnacho and Amad also start.
Mount and Fernandes in the two 'false striker' positions again, probably. Defending in a 442 off the ball again.

He's started every match so far and been our best player for the majority of it.

I think it's more likely that we'll see Rashford up top. Wouldn't be surprised if anyone of the three get substituted off for Zirkzee in the second half.

Absolutely buzzing for tomorrow night. All the stupid thoughts going through your head. De Ligt smashing a 97th minute winner in at the Kop End................................Amad and Mazroui absolutely shredding that Right side to bits............................Mainoo taking the p**s out of Grealish AND Foden

    UTFR !!!
 was you pissed when you posted ?

I hope we're in a better place than we were for Wolves last season who ran us ragged. Can see Fulham coming and doing the same thing as Silva will have them fired up and ready for this.

Hope ETH knows how much pressure he will be under already if he doesn't win. Gonna be a week of absolute nonsense in the media if he doesn't.

Interesting game this. Will be a test as no one is actually speaking about Fulham. We should have too much really.

But we need some players who will get a hold of us and manage the whole game and not let it pass them by.

    Leaders.

    Zirkzee is out.
Not true. "Erik ten Hag on Zirkzee: "If you see his background, in the last months he had an injury with Bologna, so that had him out of our first few weeks of pre-season, so no games - that is his problem in this moment."

He's just rusty and hasn't played, he isn't injured. He might get a few mins.

Can see same set up as C. Shield, until the strikers are available this could be the set up.. but Fulham are not City.. and will play different.. we need to keep the ball and take our chances when they come...
Amad bench with Garnacho and Rashford start.. Amad on at 65 70 mins for either of those hopefully the games been won ..

EtH is likely to go with something frustrating like this.

    Rashford Bruno Garnacho
    Mount Casemiro Mainoo
    Martinez Evans Maguire Dalot
    Onana

We should have enough player quality to beat Fulham though, I just hope the football is worth it.

    Why is that frustrating?

Start like that and give the new defenders minutes in the 2nd half.

I think people need to understand that we're still a bit undercooked due to summer internationals and losing a few potential first XI players to injury already.

Getting results right now will be the most important thing, the performances can come later with match fitness. If we get neither then we can start to worry a bit.

Can't see him leaving our Garnacho at the mo.

    Onana
Dalot - De Ligt - Martinez - Mazraoui
    Mainoo - Casemiro - Mount
    Garnacho - Bruno - Rashford

If we're assertive then I can see us leading 2-0 at HT and winning 3-0. If we play our usual chaos ball then it'll finish 1-1.

Could be a good thing that Lindelof, Maguire and Shaw are injured, otherwise I could see 2 of the stepping in for De Ligt and Maz.

I'll be the first to say I don't care about "beautiful" football... results are all that matter. I'd rather grind out a 1-0 win than look good losing 3-4. At the end of the season, table results are what they pay out for and invite to European tournaments for. They don't award extra points for how you looked doing it.

So. Injuries are part of the game. If we can overcome them, I don't care how we win, just win. And stop giving up points in the last 10 minutes.

Gutted that I have to work tonight and will be missing the start of the season. Really would have liked to see how we setup. We need to start this season with some positive momentum

Personally can’t see any of the new signings starting. At a push Mazraoui might.
