Decent half. Everton were a bit lucky initially with the ball breaking their way a few times. But our initial chances came from good play.

Last 15 mins of the half I felt we were in control.

Hopefully we keep it up. We need to keep the concentration up.

Zirkzee had some nice moments. Good finish too.

Amad is a funny someone. Sometimes seems so dogged but other times lightweight. His quality on the ball itself is very evident. If his trajectory remains positive he will be a great asset.

Every time I see amad I'm even more baffled by Eth and what he was thinking. It's not like we were on a winning run and he couldn't get into the team
    Madness
The fact that Antony somehow passed him in the pecking order was a fecking absurdity. No wonder Amad was completely fuming in that last little period under ETH. It was clearly visible.

One of the top craziest things EtH did.

And some people say that coaching doesn't matter, writing off some players. Of course it matters, that's why United is winning with goals from players that people had gave up on already and now Sporting looks like a Ten Hag team.
I know you guys lost yesterday, but what do you mean by that :wenger:

Some dodgy moments, but its clear there's a plan, that we're actually working towards something.

Got some luck with the goals sure, but I'm very hopeful from what we're seeing.

Amad you star. We are sitting way too deep here, if we push up they won’t be able to play out and we will overwhelm them. Giving them too much time on the ball except for Amad there.

Well, the problem is we are being cut open when we press. Some players just are not reacting and some are just hopelessly slow. The Mainoo Casemiro partnership is poor.

It's likely because referees are less inclined to award penalties when players stay on their feet, even if the foul warrants one.
not just less inclined, they never. I don't think I've seen a penalty awarded when the player has stayed on their feet.

All of a sudden and after all these years our right side looks great with Amad/Mazraoui while we are shit on the left as Dalot looks awful going forward.

Still, early days and pretty happy how we ended this half.

Feel like Mainoo has been a bit off the pace, I think that's because he is not yet used to this system
He isn't doing anything new in this system. Seems to me like he was told to keep it simple. There is no need to force it.
The problem is with Casemiro and Mainoo pairing off the ball.

Best football since a long time. Rashford with intensity, zirkzee a top player in this system. Amad and mainoo top. Only casemiro that won’t last in this system as he will be too slow imo. But all in all that’s very inspiring

Felt Bruno should have passed to him as well, he was clearer than JZ
Why does it matter? United scored, that's what matters. I would understand the post if United didn't capitalized. Weird.

We need to sub off Casemiro for Ugarte at half time, also one of Dalot or Martinez for Shaw

Those are the key words. It’s too early to write him off.

I get it. I'm not one to rag on players early on. But I had major issue when we signed him. Hes never been prolific and his goal highlights are really fluky. You barely ever see him strike a ball cleanly. He looked slow in an already slow league where players are given much more time than in the PL. His one bright spot has always been his link up and even that has looked really bad at times this season. Hes decent when he gets on the ball but his ability to control the ball is suspect.

I just dont see a lot of flashes that make me think it's going to get a lot better. I could see him being successful in a team like Pool were hes flanked by goalscoring wing forward and he can play the Firminho role, but we dont have that. I just dont see where he fits or how it gets much better unless Amorim works some magic.

Dalot isn't a United quality player, he gives away silly balls, can't score if great position. I am not sure why coaches are obsessed with playing Dalot. Casemiro is done, I hope Ronaldo can ask his club to buy Casemiro.

Great to be two up now but we were poor for a good 20 minutes of the half.
Loved the work from Amad for that 2nd..
Hope we can improve the performance in the second half.

They arent obsessed at all, he is just always fit and our other full/wing backs are often injured

We are cooking. Ruben is cooking.

I can see the “idea”! Clear shape
Definitely not trying to take anything away from system and coaching, but have to mention something that is not talked at all about - Amorim is a lucky bastard and I am here for it!

First goal today - deflection, second one - blunder of defense. We leveraged both, but those moments had to go our way

Football is a game of fine margins, it just is. And you need some luck to make the difference even with the same amount of effort

Amorim is lucky! Time and again we see games that could have gone the other way that his teams (even Sporting against City, yea) win on fine margina

And this is super exciting. Because luck is not something you can buy or force. We need this shit, in addition to everything else

    Exciting!

I think it already clear what the idea is and you can see amorims system. Obviously we still make many mistakes and its far from perfect yet but you can see how we want to play. in my opinion its more clear than it ever was under eth which is wild.

Its early days but love the formation, a couple of quality additions would make a huge difference.

we were absolutely dominated by Everton in min 5-min 30 approx. Spacing and positioning was horrible. Casemiro, mainoo and Bruno dispossessed easily.

Somehow after a deflection we played much better. Only good thing is we’re winning 2-0.
Hope for better control of the match in 2nd half. We can’t seem to keep hold the ball. Maybe ugarte needs to replace Casemiro as the Uruguayan is more mobile. Rashford, bar his deflected goal, has been shocking as well.

I know you guys lost yesterday, but what do you mean by that :wenger:
We lost after winning 11 games in a row including Porto at home and Braga away. Yesterday we looked like a pub team. Players don't know what to do and we really look badly managed. With the Porto out of the portuguese Cup we may end up with a cup but right now we are as crap as Ten Hag United phase. Some silverware won't compensate how abysmal we look.

We were really bad until the goal but we picked our moments and played a lot better after.

You can see how much better we’ll be once we get legs in CM and get specialist full backs that for the system.

Not great but you can see the vision for the system.

At least we can see what the coach is trying to do. It is up to the players to fit in. Suspect until after the Christmas programme we will see lots of changes in lineups, then he will have a good idea of his best team.

Thought we were a little fortunate, still lots of work needed with some of our players lacked composure and inability to play simple pass with poor decision making. We have lost control of the game before we scored from nowhere.

Everton are using their physical superiority all over the pitch. They will always look more dangerous than us when our players are so off the required pace when defending counters. But now that we have the lead, it's our job to frustrate them as much as possible, not take stupid risks and either let them tire themselves out or pick them off on the counter. Easier said than done but we have enough to see this through.

Only players playing well are Onana, de light, mazroui, amad, Bruno and zirkzee.

Others are not really helping the team’s cause and should buck up.

He’s just got a few players into form and then drops them. Weird.

Ugarte and Rasmus had to start surely. Anyway. Let’s see. I don’t see Rashford or Zirkzee pressing enough and the lads will be on by 60 mins

I got this wrong. We were really poor and passive until the end of the half but U.K. happy to be wrong. Confidence for Rashford and Zirkzee can only be a good thing

It's going to take time and some quality additions, but there's plenty of good signs early on. This isn't going to take years and years from the improvements we're already seeing.

Terrible start in the first 25 minutes. Can’t believe we didn’t concede. Much much better in the last 20 minutes. Let’s score at least one more in the first 10-15 mins and rest some players.

Think the first 10 minutes were great, we had good control. However, it became apparent after the 10th minute that Casemiro is still struggling closing spaces down, which is making our central midfield area quite open. In addition, Rashford and Zirkzee aren't pressing as well as i'd hope, and Bruno drifting wide at times is making it difficult to coordinate an aggressive press, becuase he's weirdly covering two positions. Add this Zirkzee and Rashford struggling to control balls under pressure, and that resulted in the 15 minutes after the first 10 being so bad. The poor 15 minutes however, was able to show us how dangerous we are on counters.

Ugarte coming on would sort a lot of issues out, however, I think moving forward, even as soon as January, we may need to think about getting another defensive CM to back up Ugarte. Casemiro is struggling to pressure the opposition off the ball, and on the ball his directness is at the detriment of the team.

This is how we break down a low block. We can’t get anything down the middle but patience and switch of play to wings does the trick. We would be trying long balls with Bruno if ETH was here.

Everton must be wondering how they’re down 2-0 after what was a pretty solid first half performance. But a huge deflection and a strip off their defender turned the game on its head.

He’s slow but defended the actual moments very well.

Those moments don't happen if we had a real wide CB on the left side of De Ligt.

Good box defending shouldn't be valued over the ability to prevent those situations where they have to defend the box.

I really like him. He's one of our most exciting (if not THE most exciting) players to watch. He wants to attack and wants to score. Reminds me of kids that you see in the park or on a field that play football for the fun of it. He seems like that type of player who actually enjoys and loves the game.
Yeah. This year he bypassed Garna and Mainoo as the most exciting young player, which is quite an achievement
