This would probably been a Saturday 3pm kick off had we not been in the EL. All they have done is moved it because of that reason.
That in itself is just a braindead rule that has no place in the modern day. I have no idea why the PL haven't just created a per-club streaming service, they'd make many times more than what they do on TV deals.

Would they? Why do you think that?

He said in the post match that both Mount and Hojland were subbed because they were exhausted. No way either of them start when we play Arsenal three days after.

I guess Mount might be saved for the Arsenal game, not sure about Hojlund, though.

The latest deal is £6.7b over 4 years, if 2 billion people paid just £1 a game it'd trump that 4 year deal over the course of 4 game weeks
So I don't know how computer or business literate you are, but firstly 2 billion people, or even close, don't pay to watch pl football. This is why sports channels exist, because not enough people will pay for just 1 sport.

Secondly I don't think you have even the foggiest idea how difficult and costly hosting this service would be. Netflix took years to even break even, you would need to create so much infrastructure it would take years to even start being able to stream it, where are the PL getting this money? Who is running this?

The PL as a brand already has a massive audience, it's huge enough to make money right away. Of course the infrastructure would cost money, at the end of it it's pretty obvious they'd make a load more than the TV deals get them. There's a reason TV companies are paying so much.

The PL are absolutely loaded, they would not struggle to set this up.

Edit: As for my computer and business literacy, I've been working in software for over 12 years, I'm aware of the enormous undertaking to be able to maintain a streaming platform at the size that would be needed but just because it would be hard and costly doesn't mean it's not worth doing, it would end up in a massively improved product for the fans and thus attract more customers. It's a massive no-brainer.

Firstly the PL is owned by the clubs, very few make a profit, so you are going to need to convince the clubs to pay for it. Building it would take years. You also need to convince them it's worth taking the risk, as currently the PL takes no risks in the current system.

TV companies bundle pl football with football from elsewhere and other sports to justify people paying for the service. (Not sure what you would do over the summer break).

Outside of the UK you are not likely to get a huge amount of people willing to pay a subscription for just pl games because you are competing with other football media.

Why would the clubs turn down more money? Building it doesn't have to take years. They could even parter up with someone such as DAZN or Amazon to get themselves going. TV is the old way, streaming is the modern solution and it makes sense to go with that.

I think you underestimate the popularity of the PL abroad. If they had a Netflix type subscription service available worldwide they would rake it in, they'd make silly money. They could even go one step further and offer other things like documentary series and shows based around the clubs and the PL.

They could eventually even expand or bring other sports in.

DAZN uses AWS, which is not cheap. Just reading quickly DAZN has yet to make a profit. You are talking about going straight to over 6 billion in profit. You would need to make quite a bit more than 6 billion to justify it.

I think you are massively overestimating the amount of people who would pay to stream the PL.

    Onana

    Yoro
    De Ligt
    Shaw

    Mazraoui
    Ugarte
    Mainoo
    Garnacho

    Amad
    Bruno

    Hojlund

Think Amorim will make the tactical tweak he made in the second half against Bodo/Glimt and go with the team below:

    Off the ball:

    Rashford
    Garnacho Mainoo Amad
    Bruno Ugarte
    Dalot Martinez De Ligt Mazraoui
    Onana

    On the ball:

    Rashford
    Garnacho Dalot Mainoo Amad
    Bruno Ugarte
    Martinez De Ligt Mazraoui

I had the same idea, so I'll just edit in my personnel changes in bold. I would give a rest to Martinez, Bruno, Garnacho. And in their place bring in Shaw, Mount and Zirkzee at 9, who surely can't be worse than Rashy in the position.

Subs: Martinez, Bruno, Eriksen, Garnacho, Rasmus

    Onana

Mazraoui - De Ligt - Shaw

    Amad - Ugarte - Mainoo - Dalot

    B.Fernandes - Garnacho

    Hojlund
subs: Bayindir, Evans, Martinez, Casemiro, Eriksen, Mount, Antony, Zirkzee, Rashford

score prediction - Manchester United 2-0 Everton

Win and a solid display would be great. Missed our first 2 games under Amorim unfortunately though it weren't exactly great results so hopefully this one will be better.

I'm rolling the dice and thinking that Amorim will try one more round of somewhat severe rotation to get players accustomed to the new system, while also resting key players ahead of Arsenal midweek (namely Garnacho, Mount, Ugarte, Hojlund). I'm going with:

    Onana

Mazraoui -- De Ligt -- Martinez

    Amad - Casemiro - Mainoo - Dalot

    Bruno - Eriksen

    Zirkzee
We've yet to see Mainoo and I think he'll be eased in with a 55-minute performance before being replaced by Mount or Ugarte. I'd like to see Eriksen tried in the 10 role with Mainoo alongside Casemiro, just so there are more legs getting back to defend, while also Eriksen's creativity can be more utilised in unlocking tight spaces if we have a high possession game (which I expect). This lineup lacks pace, so Amad would be expected to do a lot of the line-breaking ball carrying, but since I think we'll be possession-heavy, it might not be a big deal to lack a great deal of pace going forward.

This video seems to suggest that whilst it would be a huge undertaking, there is a huge profit to be made.

Everton have lost one of their last eight Premier league games

    Away form this season

    4-0 defeat v Spurs
    3-2 defeat v Villa
    1-1 against Leicester
    2-0 win v Ipswich
    1-0 defeat v Southampton
    0-0 against West Ham

Last five Premier league meetings in Old Trafford.
Two 2-0 wins for United and three draws

Would they? Why do you think that?
Because normally successful business would try to vertically integrate all(or as many as possible) of it's supply chain.

Why sell TV rights to various broadcasters when you can stream it yourself and pocket all the profits? You become your own broadcaster

If City win the court case the PL will be dead anyway so might see the transition to club specific streams soon

This is probably the first time in .. quite possibly ever that Uniteds game isn't the most important for me. My "local" team is playing the final game of the season where Champions League is at stake for the first time in the clubs history. And even if they fail in the qulifier for C.L - they most likely will reach the group stages of the Europa League which is huge in terms of money. If you have a budget of about €16-17 million - and the group stages of the Europa League + a couple of decent results is worth €6-7 million. Needless to say - that is huge. So midway through the second half of the Everton-game - my thoughts will be on the game that starts 30 minutes after Everton.

So you will have to watch two games simultaneously on two different gadgets :)

Because no one just sells PL games, PL games alone isn't enough.

Amazon prime wasn't just football though, it's a massive package, and they stopped for a reason. They stopped for a good reason.

This video assumes everyone who pays for a sports channel that show pl games would pay for a pl subscription, it's silly.

Focus on this game. Arsenal are too far ahead, while Everton are pitiful. Need to keep things realistic and get the points where possible. Diallo, Hojlund and Mount should be starting here. Will Maguire and Yoro be available at some point this season or nah?

    Hoping for a statement win.

Don't think that Everton will be an easy game.
No team lies down in the PL.

Expect us to dominate possession. One thing we’ve improved on since Amorim as arrived is dominating possession. We need to be clinical and not make it a nervous ending.

I’m hoping Yoro can start here or at least make an appearance of the bench. Give him some minutes in this game and then bang him in for the Arsenal game. We need to start getting our best players on the pitch as we have a tough month with fixtures.

Mainoo may get a start here but I’d be tempted to go back to Casemiro and Ugarte who formed quite a solid partnwship under RVN. Mainoo should come in for Arsenal where we’ll need more legs against them as well be chasing a lot of the ball.

Again, it will be interesting to see the starting line up.

    I’d like to see:

    Onana

    Shaw
    Martinez
    De Ligt
    Mazraoui
    Amad

    Ugarte
    Casemiro

    Bruno
    Mount
    Hojlund

Please win. Play some good football and don't look vulnerable everytime Everton break
