If the rumors about Lukaku getting dropped were proved right and we played with something like Sanchez, Martial, Rashford, Mata and Pogba up front, I'll be massively looking forward to this. That feels too good to be true though.

There are rumours of him being dropped?

Did Jose say Sánchez was still unavailable?

I posted them in the "Why is Lukaku undroppable" thread earlier.
Well that opens a few doors for us but Sanchez isn't available to play.
Martial should play upfront with Rashford and Mata. Or even Lingard if he's ready.

Sort of game, we shouldn't have to worry about at all. Everton are ordinary at best. But who knows which United will turn up and who knows how dull we might be. Would like to see Sanchez start - we need to give him a final chance to prove himself against a mediocre side. Would lovee to see dalot start but he won't

Lukaku being dropped is only going to be a positive thing if we change how we play and don't play as if we still got Lukaku in the team. That's why people screaming for him to be dropped as if that's going to drastically change how we perform, are probably going to be sadly mistaken. It's not all his fault. We're not getting the bloody ball to him enough. I do think he should be rested, but Lukaku alone is far from our main issue.

If we play Rashford and lump the ball to him as if Lukaku was playing (as we've done before) then it's going to be much the same.

Short term loss, long term gain. In hindsight it was better for us to never comeback against Newcastle because it saved the managers job when he didn't deserve it.

So you know that he will be sacked if we loose.
    You are certain about that?

Hopefully the team bus is leaving some time shortly to avoid being late... And hopefully without José on board.

Everton are horrible but so are we. We'll draw 1-1 or sneak a 1-0 win.

It will be dross either way.

Anyone even slightly looking forward to this game?

Not sure I’ll even bother watching. Had enough of my weekends tainted this season.

For the first time since about 2009, 6/7 teams in my accy won.

Last result needed.....Manchester United beating Everton. United, United!

Only put a quid on but 60 quid is always handy at any time in the year. Imagine draw and Everton win are very decent odds so will be putting insurance tenner on each to cover things.

    2-1 United.

I really believe the game against Everton will measure whether we are being a mid table team like Everton or better.

So you know that he will be sacked if we loose.
    You are certain about that?
No-one can be certain for sure but all the indications would point that he most likely would've been sacked if we never came back. The manner of the defeat combined with the awful results before it plus the subsequent international break.. I think there would've been action taken.

After the Juventus game, I lost all hope of ever having a turnaround under Mourinho. I kept the alarm at 2 pm ET to wake up after the match got over. I logged into Redcafe expecting Lukaku, rashford, mourinho out threads to be trending. Turns out, the match is tomorrow. I think I will just skip the match tomorrow and hope the boys are able to get something.

I dunno, We'll probably win it convincingly then lose the next game.

Jose looks like Mr. Bean sometimes.

Mourinho is done with us I think and the board is clueless about football.

I don't want to be despondent but its not just about winning the next football game.

    Its about the football supporters.

The manager, the board and even a number of the players just don't give a damn.

Your instincts are correct. They will get one game together to make an impression. Should they fail, Jose will revert to type and play Lukaku into form as he trusts him

Jose will be driving the bus and he will be parking it right in front of our goal. :p

With all the sad news about Hoddle and Leicester, finding it hard to vet excited abiut this one. Then again this great game always gors on so lets hope we put on a show. Think we will be unchanged again with 1 last chance for Rom to come good.

    Spoiler Alert

We'll start slow and sloppy, Everton will score. We will be forced to actually start playing, the game will end either 1-1 or 2-1 to us. Nothing will change, the nightmare will continue.

Close United win with Jardim running onto the middle of the pitch and ripping of his shirt to show a massive united badge tattoed onto his chest all the while mourinho disappears into the tunnel.

    I can dream right?

Jardim had Monaco in the relegation zone & is being linked with Newcastle & Southampton. Do we really want this guy?

Jardim's Monaco has sold players to the ilk of (Mbappe, Bernardo Silva, Fabinho, Thomas Lemar, Layvin Kurzawa, Benjamin Mendy, Yannick Carasco, Geoffrey Kondogbia, Bakayoko, Anthony Martial)

That is the kind of talent that is stripped from his team year after year. He's a good manager, not a magician. He will definitely do well here if given the support.

I agree. They are more his level.
Why are they his level? I suppose we should look for another experienced manager, because that's worked so well for us...

Maybe it's about time we took a risk and chose a man who will give us the attacking football we all want.

    United squad to face Everton

Lingard is back, but will he go straight back into the team?

Goalkeepers (3): David de Gea, Sergio Romero, Lee Grant
Defenders (6): Victor Lindelof, Chris Smalling, Marcos Rojo, Luke Shaw, Matteo Darmian, Ashley Young
Midfielders (6): Fred, Scott McTominay, Nemanja Matic, Paul Pogba, Andreas Pereira, Ander Herrera
Forwards (6): Alexis Sanchez, Marcus Rashford, Anthony Martial, Romelu Lukaku, Jesse Lingard, Juan Mata
The doom and gloom in here’s unbelievable, I think most should probably go out for the day and ignore the game.

I can’t wait for kick off.

    Changes afoot?

    Luckhurst seems to think so.

It's the truth! Maybe you're thinking of that Europa game against M...something? The one where Memphis looked like Messi for an hour and a half. That's the only time we've scored more than 4 post Fergie, I believe.
