There was all that fuss in the press when Falcao was left out for a couple of games, so there can't be any "must play" clause.

It must just surely feel very awkward leaving a 250k or so wage on the bench, so therefore they all usually play.

Hasn't quite panned out as the goal feast it should have!

Woodward is not Uli Hoeness nor Karl-Heinz Rummenigge, you know. I don't see anyone able to hold that kind of massive power over the manager.

Genuinely don't know if I want to watch the game now. Why bother? Its going to be flat as a pancake. Van Gaal's talk about 'balance' seems so shallow given the midfield he keeps sending out. Picking sides based on who does well also seeming like just talk, given how rubbish Falcao and Van Persie were at West Ham. When Fellaini came in, did well, and kept his place I respected that. However, now its big names not big performances that get rewarded. Van Gaal is not the manager I thought he was.

It's the right line up to be playing. McNair deserves a chance at home to Burnley ahead of Valencia. It is surprising to see Falcao not dropped but I haven't been convinced by Herrera yet. I don't think he has a career here unless he starts taking his chances in big games. Januzaj should thrive in a game like this and give us a bit of width. I am expecting a nice win tonight...the worry is that Van Gaal doesn't seem to have the first clue how to set us up for away games

Di Maria seems to play well when Mata and Herrera are playing, when there's lots of movement round him. Instead he is stuck with only RvP and Falcao ahead of him.

Disagree. He made a changes from:
Valencia – Jones – Rojo – Shaw
To
McNair – Jones – Evans – Rojo
So basically a whole new defence. Yes Jones and Rojo stay but the latter will play leftback so there is no consistency in their partnership at all.

Everyone has it wrong. Rooney is actually playing CB and Jones has moved forward in to midfield. Jones will also take all free kicks, corners and penalties.
