Is your plan to do your best to reduce us to Bournemouth’s level to somehow make the game fairer or something?

Considering the fixtures following this one and the fact that (iirc) Newcastle are at Arsenal and Liverpool’s next 2-3 fixtures are winnable, this is a very important fixture for us. We CANNOT do what we so routinely did under Ole and phone this one in and drop points.

Put DvdB in as striker, and Rashford behind him. I guarantee Rashford would make four goals.

Donny would baffle them, and Rashford can take advantage.

    Youre welcome Erik.

Should be a comfortable win if we play our full strength team. We can still put a strong team out vs Everton on Friday and rotate heavily vs Charlton.

No excuses must win tomorrow to put some breathing space between us and the scousers

Game is huge now, potential to be 5 ahead of 5th is a massive incentive.

Gigantic incentive now tomorrow to win. A potential chance to go into 3rd too if Newcastle lose to Arsenal.

This game just got much more important. We must smash them. Hoping Martinez is back for this.

Overtake Newcastle, distance between Liverpool and spurs
Close the gap on city who are playing chelsea (sort of fixture chelsea could turn up in)

3rd and a 7 point gap to Liverpool waits tomorrow

I swear we've bottled every chance we've had like this for the last 5 years.

I hope Licha is back for this one, we need to get him back next to Varane and shaw can go back out wide.

hope Martial bangs a couple in too.

If we win our next 3 PL games then I believe we are in a title race
If we beat city and arsenal then I’d say so too. I love how ETH is focusing on 1 game at a time though and not getting ahead of ourselves.

What a chance after this weeks results to start pulling away from 5th

    A. win would put us 7 clear of the scousers, and 1 behind City (temporarily at least) Come on!

Win this with a full strength XI, then can rotate in the next 2 cup games, then City is a free hit with no high expectations.

We simply have to win this game. Putting ourselves 7 points clear of Liverpool and 5 of Spurs would be terrific.

100%. We always bottled these situations under Ole so it'll be interesting to see if it's changing under EtH.

United need to keep grinding out a few more 1-0 until the attackers click. Or reinforcements arrive in the window.

If Newcastle beat Arsenal tomorrow and then United beat Arsenal in a few games time the gap would be 5 points with half a season to go.

A few more good results and United “could” be in the title race.

A bit of optimism for 2023:devil:

Jesus I forgot the Arse game wasnt that far away. Yikes. I think we match up well with them but they are in sparkling form.

100% need a win here with our next 2 games after that being city and arsenal. Need to put some space between us and 5th.

Did we? The last season yes but surely we capitalized on some of the situations when we finished 2nd or it wouldn’t have been possible.

When did we bottle 'these situations' under Ole? He finished 3rd and 2nd in his two full seasons so he was actually useful in 'these situations'.

What we bottled under him were semi finals and the chance to keep the league interesting when we went top in Jan '21.

Personally I prefer the game between Assna and Newcastle to end with a draw so that none of them will go further from us

    Lets fecking win this one.

Arsenal is facing Newcastle, and City is facing Chelsea so just win and solidify that top 4 place.

The seasons we finished well under Ole we were never really in a title race, so there never seemed to be anything other than top 4 on the line. Jan '21 is the nearest we were to making it interesting and we bombed out the minute we started getting talked up as a threat.

Whenever there was something actually at stake we failed to step up. If you consider us to be on the cusp of an actual title race this time around, tomorrow is a decent test of mental strength.

A win and we go 3rd now. All-out attack. Batter them and continue to improve our goal differential.

Enormous ask because City seem to relish playing at Old Trafford and Arsenal look like juggernaut at the moment which can't be stopped

I expect and hope for a similar game as vs Forest. In control from the minute one, pinned them back in their box and try to score a couple in the 1st half to ease the 2nd.
