People were saying that before the league game...You just know that Welbeck will get the winner.
Anyway Wenger can still hear the cheers:

All season I have been so confident about finishing in the top 4 but today at work, someone mentioned Newcastle as in the city and then it struck me how poorly we have been playing this season and I said to my self for the first time, we are not going to finish in the top 4. I don't think we will win this match. I think Arsenal could possibly batter us, but obviously they have to get past De Gea which we have to bear in mind is possible. At the Emirates, we were the worst performing team to play there this season. We were so lucky, it was quite unbelievable. Valencia smashing a completely inaccurate cross/shot deflecting off someone while the 'keeper was injured.
Then Van Gaal must play two right-footed CB's in a flat four in defence (i think for the first time in his Manchester United career) or our full-backs will be Young and Valencia
On the one hand, I'm thinking we're being a bit too cocky in all this, they can't keep losing against us.
On the other hand, I'm thinking it's Arse.
Maybe playing against Sanchez will bring out the best in Di Maria.
Are you not concerned that losing would have a hugely detrimental effect on the team's already clearly fragile confidence? Personally, I think it's a must-win (or at least a must-not-lose) given the boost it would give Arsenal in the run in for the Top 4 race.I think we will lose on Monday, but I will not be too worried, if we do. I am more concerned about the EPL fixtures. It is all in LvG's hands.
Not really sure that a loss would bear a hugely detrimental effect. Our fixtures ahead are as tough as they come, so having to play another 2-3 games in the FA cup (in case of replays) could be that very extra burden whichc may cost us top 4 spot. For me this year is quite unique and at this moment in time, I would not be overly concerned about a defeat in the FA cup, be it against Arsenal, City or MK Dons. Dropping points against the Saints at the week-end, however, would be a major blow to our top 4 hopes. Are you not concerned that losing would have a hugely detrimental effect on the team's already clearly fragile confidence? That, combined with the insufferable gloating of Arsenal's fans that would ensue, make this a massive game. If we win this with something resembling a convincing performance, the constant media criticism would be quietened and the club could really build some momentum for the tough fixture list coming up.
Just my 2 pence worth...

Agree, especially going into the run of big games we have coming up, a win here would see us go into that period full of belief, which counts for a lot.Huge game this, even if it's the FA cup and not the premier league. Could make or break our confidence.

No Falcao please. I have no idea why I keep seeing him in people's lineups. Not only is it unlikely that he'll play, he doesn't offer anything anymore when he does.
I think Walcott, Welbeck or Oxlade-Chamberlain for Özil would look more dangerous.Bit harsh on Welbzinho.
I'm hoping we line up like this:
SzczesnyChamberlain or Welbeck starting is fairly likely, but that probably means a far too attacking midfield with Ozil and Cazorla. Either way, we'll likely sit deep and play on the counter. That's worked great in some games (City being the obvious example), but if the ball doesn't stick with Giroud then we can have long spells not even getting out of our own half. I'm picturing a game where both teams take turns to dominate possession and play on the counter, with the team with the fewest defensive mistakes winning. We're guaranteed to gift you at least a goal, so I'm just hoping the favour(s) get returned...
Bellerin Mertesacker Koscielny Gibbs
Coquelin
Ramsey Cazorla
Ozil Giroud Sanchez
Shaw in for Evans with Rojo moving to CB should be the only change from our starting line-up against Newcastle.
Özil starts at 10:I think Walcott, Welbeck or Oxlade-Chamberlain for Özil would look more dangerous.
That's an incredibly attacking lineup for an away game.Özil starts at 10:
Szczesny
Bellerin Mertesacker Koscielny Gibbs
Coquelin Cazorla
Sanchez Ozil Welbeck
Giroud

Be careful what you wish for...I would love us to face that team.
