I expect nothing from this game. Even during their very poor run, they’ve mostly lost to teams that are better than us anyway, and it’s a derby game at their ground. Let’s not forget how bad we’ve been.

Just hoping we can put in a solid performance with no major feck ups.

    Yup. 3-0 City.

Even against this City team that is nowhere near the level of previous seasons I just don’t see us being good enough to take advantage. Our lack of an attacking threat means it’s very unlikely we will beat any of the better teams away from home.

If we replicate the performance we had against Arsenal, I’d feel cautiously optimistic. The only thing we seemed to lack was that clinical edge in the final third. If the rumours hold true, a front three of Mount, Højlund, and Amad could provide the attacking threat we need to trouble City.

Oh wonderful can't wait to see the Rashford PR kick up a fuss about this one. I'm sure we'll be getting "Amorim out" if we fail to win today and Rashford is left out. But this is coming from Luckhurst so i'll take it with a grain of salt since he'd love for Rashford to be out of the lineup because that's his next week of articles sorted for him.

“You have a fantastic England international, who knows the club, knows the city, grew up on this rivalry and knows what it means and who would’ve been right up for it. To not even have him as an option on the bench! His pace would’ve really hurt City on the counter today…”

Some pundit after the game today.

The leaked team was correct. No Rashford at all... Big calls. Not confident about Maguire in there.

Also no Garnacho? Might be some truth in that he's been leaking things otherwise would expect him in here

Something must be going on with Garnacho. Maguire suggests we're going for a deep block with counters, which is right up Garnacho's street.

If Yoro doesn't start I don't see Maz not being in the back 3. No way we'll have Maguire or De Ligt on the right side against probably Doku or Grealish
Looks like you might have been wrong about this.

Wait... if any/both of them leaked the lineup.. that means they knew beforehand they wouldnt play. So it's not a punishment then if you think about it...

Our two best counter attackers not in the squad against a team who's leaking goals on the counter at the moment.

Both have been poor but deserve to be on the bench. We're now left with Antony. We are a sinking ship.

Dropped from the starting XI isn’t a surprise but I’d doubt they would have been completely left out from the match day squad though?

Confirmed no Rashford/Garnacho in match day squad. Just hoping the players can defend set pieces and not make inexplicable mistakes, and if we do both these, we have a good chance.

There's no way you can have watched those 2 the last month plus and think they are the 2 best attackers on the counter. How many times do you have to watch Garnacho fluff a chance or make a bad decision on a counter.
