Expect a similar lineup/approach to the final - especially given Hojlund is out.

    Onana

    AWB
    Maguire
    Lindelof
    Amass

    Casemiro
    Mount
    McTominay

    Amad
    Bruno
    Rashford

I'm assuming the English/Argentine lads won't be thrown straight in. Zirkzee, Garnacho, Mainoo and Martinez all off the bench.
The feck is wrong with Hojlund?!?

Any chance this runs into trouble due to the riots? I think it will die down after tonight but famous last words...

I've heard that the game is under review due to the high volume of public order officers the Metropolitan Police Service have had to send out on mutual aid.

Most of their available public order officers are now out of London until Sunday working in other higher risk areas of the country due to the ongoing public disorder, leaving the minimum amount in London.

Why is Shola in the player list? I thought he'd left?

Majority (me included) expecting City win and it's not surprising. Of course game's not really meaningful but it's mid-August almost and we haven't strengthened in midfield at all while our big CB signing got injured.

Lets not be silly with this one and push the returning star players into more than a 45 min run out.

It's a glorified friendly so the main aim should be to just give Martinez, Zirkzee, Dalot, Garnacho and Mainoo a few minutes before the real match next Friday against Fulham.

Charity shield is for charity. So we might as well start contacting 99 legends to play in this and wrap our first teamers in cotton and silk until friday. I'd pay to see Stam throwing Haaland around like he was a styrofoam.

City's many players who went deep into Euros didn't make the US trip and only started training this week, therefore some usual starters may only play a half at the most.

    Predicted line up with substitutions

    Ederson (Ortega)

    Walker (Akanji)
    Dias (Phillips)
    Stones (Ake)
    Gvardiol (Wilson Esbrand)

    Rodri (O'Reilly)
    Kovacic (Nunes/KDB)
    Foden (Bernardo)

    Grealish (Doku)
    Haaland (McAtee)
    Bobb (Savinho)

Rico Lewis seems to be injured, Alvarez is in the departure lounge and 3 or 4 kids have just agreed to loans.

City don't usually take this game very seriously but as it's against United they may want to atone for the defeat in the FA Cup Final.

    Edit
Just heard that the English/Spanish Euros players had a few extra days off so Foden/Walker/Stones/Rodri unlikely to figure.
Ederson is doubtful but Lewis may recover in time.

Maguire and Lindelof both injury doubts, we litterally have no squad for this game.

    We literally have.

    Onana
    Bayındır

    Dalot
    AWB

    Evans
    Martínez

    Shaw
    Amass

    Casemiro
    Collyer

    Mount
    Eriksen

    Amad
    Sancho

    Bruno
    Hannibal

    Rashford
    Garnacho

    Zirkzee
    Wheatley

That’s 20. Two of them won’t even make the bench.

Eugh, I'd rather not throw Martinez in there immediately for a meaningless match and him having to complete 90 minutes because there's no cover.

That’s 20. Three of them won’t even make the bench.

Half of those havent played a minute of football during pre-season so wont be fit to play

Evans and Martinez? Still a decent partnership.

Martinez didnt play a minute of football during pre-season so wont be match fit and throwing him in their alongside a 38 year old Jonny Evans could be a receipy for disaster.

Is Martinez ever match fit? Desperately need a CB and we’ve just bought one! No wonder Evans got offered a new contract. We’re a mess back there.
