Thats true. I think though, we have quite a bit more fight in us today. Especially Mainoo is doing well. Lets hope we can keep the focus, last passt from the first half of Maguire wasnt a good indicator :lol:

It's a bit like his passing range. They say he doesn't have it, but then once in a blue moon he plays a diagonal long pass or a throughball, which begs the question as to why he is so damn conservative. My only conclusion is that for all his mental strength in certain degrees, he's not confident about going outside his habitual routine of carrying and interchanging in short spaces. He needs to be challenged by Amorim to be more ambitious so we can stretch play better.

Agreed. Not only he gets outpaced, but I don’t think he has the intensity and defensively awareness and capabilities to play in CM effectively. Yes he did have some good moments but the core fundamentals are lacking for the position IMO

Hopefully those things come more with time, particularly in this system.

That’s how I seen it too, Maz is definitely slowing our attacking efforts on the right, he should play RCB role in which he excelled in those couple of games.

He's doing well at doing what Ugarte does (breaking up play), but he does give the ball away a little too often, something Ugarte only did once if I recall correctly. I also think sometimes Mainoo could be a little quicker in tracking back when Liverpool break.

This is his biggest issue, he’s relatively slow so he needs to get his positioning better and try and see where the danger is coming from better to compensate.

Mainoo has stepped up well. Ugarte is our only peak midfielder and really need Mainoo to help out even though he's very young.

I think a lot of it is experience. He's rarely prepared to get the ball, and he rarely knows where his teammates are.
