What game are you watching? Mainoo and Ugarte have been excellent.Mainoo is our weakness link, positionally and passing have been poor, players go past him with ease except for one sliding tackle he won.

Yeah he does but hopefully that’ll get sorted as he gets more experience, I’d like to see him get a bit stronger like Ugarte as well. He can be brushed off the ball a bit to easy at times.Mainoo has been great in a lot of areas. He still misplaces piss easy passes though under slight pressure, even on his good games.
All bases coveredMy hunch is we end up narrowly losing but there’s plenty of positives and things to be hopeful about. We might even nick a point or a win.

We definitely need a striker. Hojlund can be our backup striker. Zirkzee can go back to Serie A, no hard feelings.
He's doing well at doing what Ugarte does (breaking up play), but he does give the ball away a little too often, something Ugarte only did once if I recall correctly. I also think sometimes Mainoo could be a little quicker in tracking back when Liverpool break.Mainoo is doing fine
I was actually thinking that he let the midfield down sometimes.Amad done quite a bit of defensive work that could have gone amiss
Runs into the space the defenders vacated. If he goes near post and the cross is bent across then he would be criticized for that.
What's the agreed run in training, cos it happens every game
True but there is balance and then there is Keane…It's good to have a bit of balance to the usual media stuff, where Trent tries about 40 crosses a game and 1 or 2 are actually decent. Yet he's relayed as some sort of new age Beckham.
Composure is his weakness, it can't be ability.Mainoo has been great in a lot of areas. He still misplaces piss easy passes though under slight pressure, even on his good games.
We have, but I think they’ve half assed it a bit. Their backline has been deeper than I expected. I think if they try and squeeze up a few yards they might start getting us. Hopefully not! We’ve played out of their front press well.
I am mystic Meg.All bases covered
That's the idea of back 3, they must step out and be the extra man in midfield, today in few occasions it helped that they stepped into midfield and tackled hard, if not, Liverpool attackers will have free run at goal.Big difference in the aggressiveness of De Ligt, Maguire and Martinez stepping into midfield
Dunno but I've been truly impressed with both his clinical finishes and his: "Might as well absolutely destroy the net" finishes.Impressive footwork in tight spaces and in tight angles. Actually looks like a striker. At only 5.8 and 134 lbs though he may be a bit too light to be as an out and out CF?
Agreed. Not only he gets outpaced, but I don’t think he has the intensity and defensive awareness and capabilities to play in CM effectively. Yes he did have some good moments but the core fundamentals are lacking for the position IMOHe's been up and down, had moments where his tight control and passing has helped break through presses, and that tackle was sweet. But he is also liable to getting outpaced in midfield because he's just a bit slow. You can see why he's the player he is, he can't rely on sheer speed so has to be cute with the ball in tighter spaces.

It’s kinda like the “hits” stat in hockey: not every check counts as a hit, and these tackles have been hits, if that makes sense. Like, you can nick the ball away and it’s a tackle but when you thump the fecker it should be called something else.We made 14 tackles that half, Liverpool made 0.
Is that correct? Crazy stat if true. Especially considering we usually seem to lose this battleWe made 14 tackles that half, Liverpool made 0.
Great assessment of the first half.0-0 a fair result so far for HT. Neither team in the ascendancy. Both should have scored 1 or 2.
Some decent commitment, concentration and intensity from us in our own half, but no clue what to do in our opponent's. Similar story to other performances against better opposition under Amorim. Able to keep possession better than under ETH, albeit with moments of chaos and the the occasional error - thankful nothing that's cost us so far.
Reckon Slot will have them up the urgency and control in the second half - because they have another couple of gears in them - and get us under the cosh. We're playing about as well as we can other than stringing together killer passes in the final third and actually knowing where the goal is.
If Liverpool get the first goal then I reckon they'll win 2-0 or 3-0. If we get it then it'll be interesting to see if we change our style or try to hold on.
Hojlund needs to really sort his shit out. He's been awful again. Lads in my U14 rugby team are stronger than him.
Not just one…Sadly we have created so many chances and no one can score. We need a finisher
Regardless at least it's not a thumping. If we can maintain the same momentum and hold it at a draw I think we'll all be happy. I'll be ecstatic if we can manage a win.Not sure. We usually only do 1 good half. And since we’ve just had that…
Agree with you mate.Yeah, specifically at 1v1s Alisson is probably the best in the world. At the same time, it was a really tame effort from a player with rock bottom confidence.
A million times better than expected
And peeps are still whinging.
He never gets to that ball in time if he alters his run there.Hard to agree to be honest - why did Hojlund not head for the near post for the Fernandes cross? He carried on behind the defender never once even looking like he would even think that getting in front of the defender might be what was best. He lacks that instinct, that killer movement and touch.
No Sir. Not at all. What game are you watching?Mainoo is our weakness link, positionally and passing have been poor, players go past him with ease except for one sliding tackle he won.
0 tackles? How can that be in a game of football it’s crazy. We made 14 tackles that half, Liverpool made 0.
