    Good half with some great individual performances from Ugarte, Mainoo, and Bruno. Most importantly though it looks like we're more together as a team.
     
    Big difference in the aggressiveness of De Ligt, Maguire and Martinez stepping into midfield.

    Ugarte and Mainoo been brilliant in MF. Bruno has been very good. Needed Amad and Hojlund to take their chances.

    Could have asked for much more tbh.
     
    Considered just sleeping through it, but typically woke up at 4.26pm!

    However, very good display so far. Had a couple of good chances, which is more than we often get.

    Hoping the 2nd half is more of a last season job than the year before though. As we were only 1-0 down at half time in that 7-0 smashftest!

    Very good display so far though, bit nervous about when the energy wears off and we have to take some of these players off!
    Without any doubt this is our best midfield. No surprise we looked a state v Newcastle without any of them until the emergency sub.

    And the cross to Amad was a waste, Hojlund running the wrong side of the Dyke was a wasted opportunity too. Need to keep it up for the 2nd half too.

    No decent subs who can can change the game except Garnacho but hes been wank all season.

    I think we will score and get at least a draw today.

    And we have so few clear cut chances that he’s expected to put every single one of them in the back of the net.

    Im not mad at him for losing his 1v1 with Alisson tbh, but rather not making more runs like these, and not cutting inside to the first post when he’s in the box.
     
    We had to score that half. I think Liverpool will press us higher in the buildup and probably catch us out now

    That was a good first half performance. Aside from a 5 minute period where Liverpool almost scored twice, we have done well to nullify them. Maguire and De Ligt in particular at the back are playing well together. Ugarte has been great in the middle and Mainoo has got into the game more and more as it has gone on.

    We've had two really good chances, but there is still a lot of room for improvement. We have to get Amad on the ball more and Hojlund has to get into the game more, too. We seem to be much less effective the further up the pitch we are.
     
    Good half.

    Back 3 have been excellent. Been really good at getting in to break up the passes into feet and stepping up with the ball.

    Mainoo and Ugarte excellent in midfield. Dalot his usual braindead self aside from 1 cross.

    Bruno has wasted some decent attacks with poor passes. Need to get Amad into the game more, he should have scored from that Dalot cross.

    Hojlund been poor underpressure, can't challenge aerially and should really have scored.

    They're getting edgy, the crowd are gone quiet and nervous, it looks like they thought they'd rock up and roll Utd over with ease.

    Should really be ahead and could end up winning this.
     
    Other than our right side being almost nonexistent offensively, we’ve been pretty good. We also created really good chances.

    Bruno’s been fine. Wingbacks not good enough going forward. Amad nowhere to be seen. Hojlund so wasteful.

    Ugarte excellent game.

    Pleased that we kept it tight and attacked as well, bit of hardwork and they just become slightly respectable.

    They must stay focused and keep working extra hard, thats the only way to get something out of this game if there is anything to get from this game

    I can’t see many strikers tucking that away. Angle too tight.

    Mainoo and Ugarte have been excellent as has Mazrouii and Dalot.
     
    There's still a clear difference between the teams — you can see that one knows its system by heart and most of their actions & movement are automatic and another one has to actively think about what's happening at every point of the game, in and out of possession. But at least we have a very clear idea, even though its execution is far from perfect and the individual quality is often lacking.

    Not a bad half. Especially considering our recent record against Liverpool (and, especially, at Anfield). Now watch us concede in the first minute of the second half after maintaining the concentration (more or less) for 46 minutes.
     
    Rasmus reminds me of Lukaku in his style of play, moving a little too slowly, kinda lumbering about, but has some good linking passes and generally gets in the right areas . Unlike Lukaku, his finishing isn’t good. But he’s still in his starlet years, hope we get someone he can learn from and emulate.

    And I hated Lukaku.

    You forgetting the chance by Amad. 5 yards out and mis timed his run for the header.
    It's been a good game so far.
    Love that we're putting in crunching tackles.
    That's all I asked for. 110% effort.
     
    Obviously no one has been perfect but I think generally, everyone has been good.

    For me Hoijund needs to hold the ball up better and Amad needs to get more involved but they've both had positive moments too.
     
    Can't say I agree with those saying Hojlund played bad. Need him to score that chance but he was good other than that in my opinion
     
    All things considered, great performance. We should be at least 2 up. We had 3 great chances to their 1. Hope we can keep it up.

    Ofcourse you want Hojlund to score and it was a very good chance but it seems like people forget that Alisson is in that goal. Alisson is one of the best in the world and he is one of the best because he saves big chances.
     
    We've become the game raising cnuts we hated Liverpool to be a couple of years ago :lol: but fair fecks to the players, they are doing more than decently. Game is cagey though,the longer we can keep them out the more likely a sucker punch.
     
    Hojlund is terrible one of the worst forwards I've seen at the club. He has to run across the defender for Bruno's cross and it's a tap in then when he is put through that was a pathetic attempt.

    We are not going to climb the table with such a weak forward
     
    About as good of a first half as we could have hoped. Maguire, de Ligt, Ugarte and Mainoo have given the us a good base to play from.

    Hojlund and Amad should have done much better with the chances they had.
     
    Been pretty decent aside from people not tracking Macallister/Jones running into the box from midfield. One of the Hojlund or Dalot/Amad chances should have gone in, but confidence is in the sewer and it feels like we'll need an open goal to actually score.

    Fully expecting the traditional second half headloss and Pool strolling to a win after being gifted 2+ nice easy goals from nothing.

    We could be leading but Liverpool missed a couple of decent chances as well. Mac Allisters forced a similar save from Onana as Alisson made on Hojlund.

    Pretty even contest overall which is a pleasant surprise.
