They used to have this Japanese player that they rated so highly didn't they? where is he now? I don't see him play anymore. Mani Moni or whatever.

Why is everyone saying Maguire or Lindelof ? He could put Shaw with Martinez and have Malacia let back.
Either way, what ever the boss does I'm going to sit back and enjoy us thumping these bast..ds.
Shaw is Martinez's backup, with both being left footers who play on the left side. ETH won't play them both together. It'll be one of Lindelof or Maguire who play next to Martinez if Varane is out.

I sure did. Refs help giving 7 mins injury time though.

That was down to dumb time wasting tactics from Bournemouth, hope we send them down in May now. Also Lego Pep's moaning about officiating helped too

What are we thinking they line up?
    Allison
    Trent - Konate - VvD - Robertson
    Fabinho
    Henderson - Bajcetic
    Salah - Jota - Nunez

Today we play the wounded animal who still have a good chance thanks to Spurs and Newcastle being poor of reaching the top 4. We seen them play like world beaters against real for 25/30 mins and then collapse. To beat us they need to do that for the majority of the game. Am I saying we are better than Real? Well we were clearly a lot better than Barca who are well clear. I think if we play like we can and should today we can show how far we’ve improved and that this isn’t a blip for Liverpool they are actually quite far behind us now. Play like the Barca game and we’ll come away with the points. Play like the Arsenal game and it’s anybody’s.

Damn it. We can’t afford Maguire pushing up and losing Nunez or Salah on the turn, but at the same time I don’t think we’ve ever looked comfortable with Lindelof and Martinez together. Don’t think they gel well stylistically
Martinez-Lindelof looked pretty solid in their last game against Leicester and that was without Casemiro. I think they only had one more game together after the WC and that was also a clean sheet (Nottingham).

They didn't look good in that first half v Leicester game though. They got better in 2nd half.

Think the front 3 will most likely be, Rashford, weghorst and Antony. Bringing garnacho on will cause them massive problems. Trent is gonna get rinsed all game of rashford and then the same when Garnacho comes on. If Liverpool play an high line like they usually do then we can score a few here but I think ETH may think about rashford through the middle for that reason. Our midfield looks a lot more superior to there’s nowadays and I think we can walk straight through them! 3-1 to us!

If we keep our calm in the first 20 minutes we will be alright I think. They will come out with all guns blazing like they did against Real Madrid. But they are not good enough anymore to maintain this the whole game, like the Real Madrid game showed as well. Keep our nerve, stay relaxed and don’t concede in the first 20 minutes and we will win this.

    1-1 I think.

I’d take a draw, but I’ll put a bet on Liverpool winning that way it’s a win-win for me: financially if they win, great obviously if we win.

Used to do this but found it ruins the match? My loyalties became split and I dont actually know what I want.

So this match, my own team's match and F1 all at the same time. That really sucks.

If we play as well as I know we can then. We should win this by a couple of goals. Never easy going to their place though, and form goes out the window in these games. Can’t afford to concede an early goal. Going behind doesn’t seem to bother us anymore as we can come back with the fight this team as but I don’t fancy chasing a goal and being to open against Nunez and Salah.

Very surprised at anyone saying they would take a draw today. Yes this is probably our toughest fixture left, and no we aren't going to win every game, but I can't think of a better time in recent seasons to play them. A draw is no good to either team, so I'm expecting a belter of a game today and I'm happy to roll the dice and see what happens.

Draw is fine for us as it pulls us another point away from Newcastle and Spurs. No way we are winning the league if that’s what you are thinking a point is poor

It's really simple though: we're always shite at Anfield. A draw is an excellent result: we increase our advantage over Spurs and Newcastle on the weekend of our most difficult fixture, and we keep Liverpool 10 points away which is a very comfortable cushion ahead of the run-in.

I'm surprised that there are people who would be disappointed with a draw. Again, we haven't even scored a goal at Anfield since 2018.

Different team. Different performances, different manager.
I’m sure everybody would take a draw with it United sides v that Liverpool over the years but it’s crazy to take one now. There’s no logical on field explanation as to why we should.

VVD ahead of Varane is crazy based on this season. Otherwise I think it’s about right - Nunez being in just emphasises how much we need Kane for next season. Number 9 is such a clear gap for us.
This season, career. It’s madnes. Trent shouldn’t even get into Liverpools starting 11 never mind a combined team
Edit and I just saw Nunez!

Oh I choose United winning everytime. The euphoria it gives far outweighs the monetary value of the winning bet.

Although it usually buys the takeaway I cry into later on.

We were usually shite at Anfield under Sir Alex, under Moyes, under Mourinho, under Ole, and under Rangnick. And though Van Gaal gave us Juanfield, we played awful in the other two games we played there under him. Though admittedly we won one of them so there's that.

All sorts of managers failed to 'crack the code' and actually play well at Anfield. A draw would be excellent.

Eh? A draw for us would be excellent in context of Liverpool not closing the gap and Spurs and Newcastle both losing. If anything it makes CL qualification even more likely.

A win would be nice of course but these lot will play out of their skins today just you watch.
