All of this, ''if you go head to head with Liverpool, they'll slaughter you'' stuff is utter nonsense. They're not that good, really and I hope Jose plays them on Saturday. Sitting back and hitting them on the counter is a way to beat them, but we can also go for it and put a few past them.

You're right they are not that good but I think we simply have a much better chance beating them by sitting back and hitting them on the counter than we do going head to head.

Klopp will want us to go for it and attack, we should be doing the opposite of what he and Liverpool want.

I don't think he wants that, he desperately hopes we will.

I think it's one of the benefits of having Jose.

Another manager might get too emotional or confident and decide that with us flying and them in shit form it's the perfect time to go for it and try and batter them, which like you said is what Klopp will desperately want us to to.

I can't see Jose falling into that trap.

Mane out, Coutinho and Firmino aren't back in the country until Thursday for a Sat lunchtime kickoff
We have so many advantages that it's truly ridiculous

Mane out for up to six weeks with a hamstring injury.

That's a real shame for him. I don't like seeing good players get injured, but I can't deny reading that gave me a little boost of excitement - only because it improves our chances, not because he's injured of course.

I'd have Blind over Darmian all day long especially in that setup. There's no need for a defensive fullback when you have 3 CBs in behind.

It's Jose at Anfield, I'd expect the most defensive options in most positions.

Good news for us Mane is out. Their win rate without him is appalling.

Agreed - they're a level (or two) below someone like City. They are a good team, they have some decent players and a lot of pace up top but there's nothing clever about how they play. If we play Blind at LB they will ravage us but otherwise I feel we're good enough to make them shoot from range (if they beat DDG then hats off) and physical enough to bully them off the ball and get the crowd turned on Klopp.

Apart from us also having many injury doubts. Well at least though we got a fresh Herrera for this one. I expect him to put in another great performance against Liverpool and we got Juan Mata.

After those 2 goals at Anfield I do want to see him start even if I guess it is likely Mourinho will go more defensive and probably play with Mkhitaryan ahead of him as I doubt he will start with both of them.

We've lost Pogba, they've lost Mané.

Seems even enough for me. Thankfully we have much better strength in depth.

They have us, also Spurs away during that time, also of course CL. Luckily they have an international break in November. They will be hoping 6 weeks is the maximum as they have Chelsea at home at end of November. They also have games they should win, but those are the sort of games they slip up.

Mane out is such an advantage for us although I wanted to see him against us and how can we cope with him

A front 3 of Coutinho-Firminho- Salah is still pretty decent.

Or Sturridge up top and those 3 behind him..

Mane out is definitely a help, but their attack is still fine.. We need to get at their back line.

Martial / Mata / Herrera / Young have had a full two weeks off, Carrick as well if he comes in. Valencia isn't even playing v Argentina due to suspension.
Jones if he comes in. Our energy levels alone will be polar opposites of each other

Will be interesting to see if he starts with Martial over Rashford for this one. I would suspect Rashford with his movement and pace could be useful for this game and I do think Mourinho will pick him. Although Martial could have a great day against the defense of Liverpool no doubt. With his ability 1 vs 1 with fresh legs that could really help us. Either way the one that doesn't start could come on from the bench and do damage as well.

If Jose fancies it I think Martial starts simply because if we do grab the lead I can't see Jose bringing off the hard working Rashford for Martial. That sub wouldn't make sense and with our lack of defensive options off the bench to see out the game I think it's the smart move.

Mane injury doesn't make that much difference actually as they had to leave out one of their attackers. We have to go at their defence as they are so weak there.

Well, with Mane out I think the game is very equivalent. Coutniho and Firmino will return from the break 48 hours before the game so they'll be exhausted as well. Gonna be a crap game for both teams it seems.

Changed the prediction to 0-0 draw.

Would have been that last season when our forwards were bottlers in front of goal. Or, if we managed to score one, we would concede an equalizer in the 89th minute.

Now, with even teams and Mourinho's tactics which stifle the opposition, I am quite optimistic about an ugly 1-0 win.

I find it quite funny that we already know Mane will be out for 6 weeks yet Pogba has been out for a month and there has been no time frame from the club. Mourinho said it was long term but that's very strange because it's not like he got ligament damage or something really serious. If it's the same injury then Pogba will be out for another 2 weeks.

So if Valencia is banned for tonight's match then does anyone know if he is already back in Manchester?

If so, I think that that will make quite a big difference for us.
