Gaz just said he would have taken a draw here as a United fan. I'm inclined to agree with him rather than buy into the doom monger line being towed by some on here. Anyone who thinks we were entitled to just stroll away with three points is either unrealistic or doesn't understand how proper football works. We move on with the certainty that Liverpool will take point off our genuine title rivals at this ground :devil:

In the grand scheme of things a scoreless draw at Anfield is an excellent result. Lukaku could have nicked it but we're doing more than fine.

He had our one chance to win the game.
We have seen and we should accept that he is not that striker who will finish the one chance he has , but there is no other than Messi / Ronaldo who you can count of to do it , so I am cool with him and with more support from the midfield , he will be doing his job

Utd won't win the league until they find a way to win a few games against the big boys in the league and utd look a long way from that. One thing about lvg was that he gave the big teams problems and utd looked far more comfortable against them.

This is how you win the league, for all you whiners.

You don't lose points to your rivals, and you clean up when you're supposed to clean up. That's how you win titles. A win would be better, but a draw means we don't lose ground. Now, we go take points from teams Liverpool will lose to, and we extend our lead over them.

Even under Fergie, we often left with draws against our title rivals, and smoked everyone else, while they dropped points they should have won, and then we won title after title. Simpletons.
But we have lost ground. If we're to be considered title contenders (which judging by This, our first real test, we shouldn't be) then Liverpool aren't our rivals, City, spurs and Chelsea are, regardless of history. Today we all fell to sleep watching a performance lvg would be proud of and city won 7-2.

It's ok to be disappointed by a game, stop trying to paint this as anything other than the awful but mourinho like performance it was.

I remember plenty of poor performances under SAF and we still won a shit load of trophies. Don't go slitting your wrists because of one poor performance for crying out loud.

Young played this fixture last season and played well, think with that and his pace and crossing ability on the counter attack makes him a certain pick. Jose really rates him.

Not at FB, as I said.

Young can defend, I don't think he's a bad full back at all. He has more pace than Blind and Darmien and we should remember whoever is LB will be put up against Salad for 90 minutes.

Of course he has more pace. And no, he cannot defend. Which was why Darmian started at LB and Young, based on his recent form, took Mata's spot.

Darmien was pretty rubbish tonight, and Young was extremely disciplined.

Back to your point however, if Young cannot defend, the best manager in the league at judging defenders wouldn't have him at full back as often as he did.

Because Young obviously can attack and is in a good run of form. He plays him at FB against throw away teams, also because LB is in dire straights and is the weakest position on the roster.

He played Darmian, as I predicted, to go against Salah and pushed Young into Mata's spot based on his run of form. This is not a difficult concept to understand. Young is not a LB and never will be. He can do a job there against weaker teams or in a pinch with injuries.

    Darmien was shite though.

And there's no such thing as a throwaway team tbh. Mourinho would never play someone who can't defend in the back 4. Ludacris statement to a make.
