I've just seen a tweet saying that any Liverpool fans caught singing about Munich or United fans caught singing about Hillsborough will be thrown out of Anfield on Monday.

We'll see if that makes a difference or not.

Hard to complain too much about this, annoyingly (although Bailly should be in place of Smalling and I don't know much about Lovren).

Is this on season form or best players in general?

Probably this season. I'd have Matip over Lovren personally. Not sure I'd argue against any of the others at the moment.

Must be season form? Deffo wouldn't be agreeing so much otherwise.
If its season form then the only thing I would say is Bailly is better than both CB's selected.

In general I would have to argue for Shaw, Rashford, Martial and Mkhitaryan (not necassarily all making the 11 of course). Henderson would have to be out too.

So they take one of the bigger fixtures of the league and plant it on a Monday? I swear this shite is starting to get on my nerves. Majority of our kickoffs this season have been at odd times.

Nice spine to that XI, substituting Bailly for Smalling. We could do with finding the next 'Ibra' now before he moves on retires, because he'll leave a gaping hole when he does eventually move on. Rashford is still developing and although he couldn't be doing any better, having a world class striker in his prime a la Ibra/RVP is key for us I think.

Watched the highlights of last season's home game, Martial what a goal

Also Mata and Herrera link up was very good, they always play well against Liverpool.

Bailly in for Lovren the obvious one, but on current form its alright. Valencia/clyne about the same, normally shaw walks in for milner, and martial at his best would get in, but theyve been in better form so its not terrible.

We need DDG to be well prepared for the obligatory penalties Liverpool will get.
Even without pens and own goals the numbers are interesting for Liverpool compared to United when you consider the schedules. Granted, 7 games into the season don't give you much more than a snapshot but still.

    Shots taken per game
    LFC 18.7
    United 17.1

    Conversion rates
    LFC 10.7% = 1 goal per 9.5 shots
    United 10.0% = 1 goal per 10 shots

The stats for goals and shots against are very interesting. Looks as if LFC is good at preventing shots but if they can't, chances are high that opponents score.

    Shots conceded per game
    LFC 8.00
    United 10.6

    Conversion rates allowed to opponents
    LFC 17.9% = 1 goal per 5.6 shots conceded
    United 9.5% = 1 goal per 10.6 shots conceded

I expect the game to be a close fight.

These stats don't tell anything as they don't tell about quality of chances.

As many of us have said previously when it comes to the big games we need to play 3 in midfield. If we play just two of Pogba and Fellaini or Pogba and Herrera then we are going to get overrun and absolutely blitzed by Liverpool due to their fast attacking style of play.

Carrick behind Pogba and Herrera would be the best option for me.

feck me you lot are optimistic, aren't you?

I think Liverpool might well nick this (based mainly on spirit, you only need to look at this board sometimes and the 'we're gonna get hammered' mentality to get a picture of the overall feeling around the club) but those who think you'll lose 5-0, when has this ever happened? United aren't gonna lose 5-0 to anybody in this league, regardless of how mediocre they're playing.

Liverpool are pretty good, but not that good. Realistically, they are a team who without the ball lack talent and hide behind a system, albeit it's a good one but they fade late and if you can work around it and hit them quick on the counter and get at their back 4 they are vulnerable. Attacking wise they have some dangerous players combining pace (Mane) and a couple of goalscoring attacking mid's (Coutinho, Firmino) but their midfield distribution is basic.

If United are up for this, they can quite easily come away with a point or better.

Is he even that important for their team?

It's a daft theory regarding the Blind connection, however I am sure if a United player told the national dutch manager at half time he was feeling his hamstring you might also be a bit annoyed he sent him back out for another 20 minutes.

He has been very effective yes, he has settled into our midfield 3 extremely well and would be a miss for us.

Liverpool always have better players than us. That's why it's so strange they've been even worse in recent years.

Yes, I am fully with you for the annoyance. The decision was weird.
Thanks for clarifying his importance in the team. Well if he's a miss for Liverpool, I would take it as a positive for United...

No problem - his role has been more defensive that he had at Newcastle, granted he had a good goal return there.
Wijnaldum may not get noticed as much as others, but he has been very effective in his role for the team.
Breaking up attacks, linking up the play and working hard for the team - not necessarily in a flashy way, but allowing others around him to be more expressive.
He has a great work rate and brings a lot of energy to our midfield.
The combination of him, Lallana and Henderson has worked really well and has played a large part in the good start to the season.

It isn't a disaster him missing, but if Lallana also isn't fit it will be a blow - not necessarily an excuse if we don't get a result.

Made a promo video for a bar event here in Helsinki. My first one ever, the timings are shit as I just put it together on a phone, but well - didn't make me any less excited about Monday

So Lallana is still a major doubt for Monday according to the Liverpool Echo but there's a chance Wijnaldum could play after scans have revealed he has a hip injury, not a hamstring one.

Worst case scenario this is how we'll line up:

    ----------Karius------------
    Clyne-Matip-Lovren-Milner
    --------Henderson----------
    ------Can------Coutinho----
    Mane---Sturridge---Firmino

If Wijnaldum is fit then swap him for Can and that's it.

I dread asking this question, but can someone update me on our sqaud status in terms of availability and fitness after these international break.

Is everyone except Phil Jones fit?! What's the status of Mkhi?

I'm refusing or don't want to be nervous about this one but I'm already feeling the tension tbh.

I have a good feeling about this one. Despite the fact they look better right now. But I count on Jose to have something up his sleev and to motivate our players. It's Anfield after all, atmosphere will be electric, Liverpool fans will want to beat us as always but to beat Jose as well as they hate his guts. I hope he will know how to answer and silence them.

I fear the worst for this game, but you never know, & sometimes results can be surprising. I certainly hope so. Either Liverpool will win with ease, or we will nick a win despite being completely outplayed.

To have any chance, we have to play similar to how we did against Man City in the second half, pressing them & stopping their passing flow. To do this we first need to close them down from the back with their goalie, as they like to play like City, & secondly we will need pace in the side to do this. Which means the likes of Rooney & Fellani need to be dropped, as we need to press & move quickly, not like our usual trance.

    Why only those 2 options?
